L’ltO-Vear Violin Brought ^ in Pie res to Be Repaired The repair department of the t". hmollar A Mueller Piano company lias just received for repair a violin which dates back about 200 years. H. A. Patterson, 4142 Grant street, who has owned the instrument for more than 50 years, brought it to the store in about nine different pieces. Mr, Patterson received the violin from his uncle, G. W. Langford, of Lon | don, England, as a reward for his ability. Mr. Langford paid about 100 pounds for It wheir he purchased it i from a friend. Scratched on the inside of the violin I is the record that it was repaired la i 1804 when the neck was broken at pea in a hurricane on the tvay to Eng land from India. Although experts have looked at the instrument, the make cannot be decided upon, but all are of the opinion that it is much over 200 years old. A national temperance campaign of churches has been started in Great Britain. Ohio Police Glad to Get Rich Back in Their Hands Detectives Gurnett and Fraud re turned yesterday from Cleveland. O., where they took William Albert Rich, "confessed'' slayer of C. K. and Robert Siefken, to answer to a charge of robbery, with a life sentence upon conviction. They said they were met at the station by Cleveland detectives, and that Ohio authorities appeared glad to get Rich back. Road Bonds Sold in Chicago County commissioners yesterday sold <100,000 worth of 20-ye.ir, .' per cent road bonds to the Federal Securi ties company of Chicago. National Prune Week Is Being Featured in Omaha This is "national prune ■week” throughout the entire United tSates promoted by the f'alifornla Prune and Apricot Growers' association, and tho growers’ cooperative marketing organization. Prune week will end Saturday night and will be featured by wholesale and retail growers, restaurants, hotels, club dining rooms, lunch counters and bakeries.
