Valentino Starts * Beauty Contest Will Search in Omaha for Most Beautiful Girl for Leading Woman. Hodolph Valentino is starting on a lour df the United States in search pf the woman with the greatest beauty. He wants her to be the lead ing woman of his new picture. He will be at the Auditorium Saturday, Jo perhaps begin and end his aearch. A contest of beauties is to be held Jn all the larger cities of the country, Valentino and his wife to be the judges. The prettiest girls in 100 lilies will form a special committee of heauty from which Valentino's new leading woman will be chosen. The other 99 will oo personally rec ommended for employment by Valen tino to leading motion picture firmA. "I am tired to death,” says Valen tino, "of all the wrangling about pon tracts with movie producers and the questions of salary. What does $30. 000 a week mean to me when such productions as "The B’our Horsemen of the Apocyalypse” and "The Sheik” bring In returns of millions of dollars. I’m through! I’m going to make my own pictures. "Considering the fact that during this tour I shall be out of the pictures altogether and that my wife and my self propose to leave no effort untried jn securing the most beautiful girl in America, I estimate that the beauty contest trip will cost me at least a i fortune, but every penny of it will he ■worth while if it results In showing the people of America the most won derful picture and the greatest perfec tion in complexion that the world has ever seen.” Prikes for the most beautiful girl to be selected in the contest are on display in Rrandeis store window.
