This enormous stock of toys fills 34,848 square feet of space on the eighth floor. These
toys were purchased under the personal supervision of Mr. George Brandeis and the
head of the toy department. They visited France, Germany, Austria and other coun
tries and spent many days in the leading toy factories. They bought toys direct from the
manufacturers, not only at the lowest possible cash prices, but they were given the first
pick in selection. These toys came to the United States before the toy tariff went into ef
fect, and we will sell them on the old tariff basis. When you remember that the old
tariff rate on toys was 35 per cent and the new 70 per cenfy you will readily see the ad
vantage our customers will obtain through our purchase of these toys under the old tariff.
