tacular marches across the Carnegie
Teach goal lino gave the Notre Dame
eleven, brilliant JO to 0 victory on
a frozen, snow-covered gridiron here
today. The light and speedy eleven
coached by Walter ateffen fought
valiantly but could not withstand the
terrlllc battering of Coach llockne's
powerful machine.
Tech made lis best bid for a score
in the opening minutes of play, when
Flying Jimmy Robertson ws 'he star
of an offense that gained more than
jr. yards on straight football. Then
Notre Dante got under way ami the
outcome was never In doubt. Sweep
ing runs, plus two perfect forward
passes were chiefly responsible for
the three touchdowns,
llrilliant team work brought vic
tory to tho visitors. Coach Kockne
used many backfield substitutes and
most of them gained ground behind
perfect interference. -. Notre Dame
made 13 tlrst downs and Tech got
seven, six of which were the result
of Robertson's individual efforts.

Nebraska Wesleyans Give Blue
of Creighton Good Battle, But
Lose to Omaha Team, 13-23
By RALPH WAGNER.
Fighting gamely to the last whistle and outplaying Crt-lghton In the
final quarter, the snappy Nebraska Woslcysn team of yellow-Jerseyed
gridHters from University Place, held the Ulue of Crelghton to a 23 to 13
score on Crclghton field yesterday afternoon.
Tho light Westeyan cloven, the "undor-dog" of the contest, growled and
showed his teeth to such an extent in tho final quarter that it nearly
spelled defeat for freighton. He was kicked from one end of the field
to the other for three periods and then in the final quarter mussed up his
hair and snapped back at the Blue gridsterf.
It was when the "underdog" snapped back that tho handful of spec
tators who shivered through three unexciting football uarters got a chance
to see a little interesting grid sport.
The handful of spectators who braved a chilly wind to see Crelghton
lick a Nebraska conference eleven, saw McKarland, a Wesleyan substitute,
grab the leather oval out of the ozono and dodge, squirm and wlgglo his
way through tho entire Crclghton eleven for a touchdown. This run of
MeFarland'H was the only spark of spectacular football attached to the
entire game.
