A New Tread -a Lower Price
Reliable Goodyear Quality
Here is a new Goodyear Cord Tirea big, sturdy, long
wearing tire that sells at a price lower than you are asked
to pay rorvmany "long discount" tires of unknown value
It has a different tread from the famous Goodyear All
Weather Tread Cord a new tread with a deep, clean-cut,
cog-like pattern and it sells for from 20 to 25? less.
It has in it the same high-grade long-staple cotton, the same
Goodyear patented group-ply construction, the same liber
ally oversize dimensions.
When you buy the 4Vi-inch size, for example, you get a tire
whose actual measurement is nearly 5 inches.
Don't confuse this Goodyear Cross-Rib Tread Cord with
other popular-price cords which sell at the same price or for
slightly more.
In many cases, these other cords are made of inferior mate
rials, with short-staple cotton as a foundation.
Get the tire that is good enough to carry the Goodyear name,
that is built to safeguard the world-wide Goodyear reputation.
All of die Goodyear Service Station Dealers listed here
have the Goodyear Cross-Rib Tread Cord, as well as the
famous All-Weather Tread Cord, ready for you now.

Police have gathered several checks

by the manager of Hotel Patminder,
where McDonald enjoyed the privi

his arrest, charging that his bill 'was
unpaid.

Cutting of Early Oats
Begun in Randolph Region
Randolph, Neb., July 12. (Special.)
With the first rounds cut from
fields of early oats the past weekend,
cutting of early oats began in earnest
here today. Early oats promise a
good crop, some fields being estimat
ed at 35 to 40 bushels. Late oats, es
pecially sown after the' snowstorm
of April 10, are thin in stand and only
a fair crop is , expected. Corn has
never looked better and although
there has been nothing but threats
of rain for a week, is not suffering
from dryness. Potatoes have devel
oped much top, but rain which fell
at the "set-ting" season promise a
good yield. Rye which has been har
vested has yielded well, but is short
of straw.

attempt to eliminate a provision from
the McCumber tariff bill which in
effect exempts soap manufacturers

noncdible purposes, from the pay
ment of duty.
Senator Gooding. Idaho, head of
the western agricultural tariff bloc,
led the fielit for the elimination of
the provision. A motipn made by
him to strike it out was defeated by
a vote of 24 to 33. Sixteen repub

ing in the affirmative. Ihcy were

Oklahoma; Johnson and Shorrridge,

committee in the McCumber bill. It
imposes duties of 3 cents per pound
on cottonseed oil and soya beans.
Approval of the clastic tariff pro

urged by Senator Edge, New Jersey.
"If the tariff bill, in its final form,
fails to provide, otherwise than con

well as upward, as circumstances
and investigation should warrant I
cannot vote for it," said Senator
Edge.
