Red Cloud, Nebr., will bo one of tho seventy-four towns to bo visil.od on the tour. Tho itinerary covers 1,593 miles, includes parts of three different lines of milrond and covers towns in NebraskH, Wyoming Colorado and Kan sas. Cantata Pleases People One of tho most pleasing entertain tainmeuts that bits been presented in our city this season was tho cantata en titled. "Life Everlasting" given hist Sunday night by the Community Chor us, under the able direction of Miss Josephine Mizer. As evidence of the fact that this hind of high class musi cal entertainment Is appreciated by the community every seat, in tho Besse Auditorium wns tilled and many were compelled to stand. All tho selections were beautiful numbers and were splendidly rendered. Those deserving special mention for their appearance in soles, duets, trios and quartets tire: Miss Boron, Ilitlbort Thomas, Mrs. Gel latly, Mrs Hush, Pearl llines, Ila Bar rett, Mr. Cotting, Mrs. Laird Potter, Lalian Wagoner, Mrs. Frank Hughes, Mr. Bush and Miss Ruby Koon, while the elllcieucy of Miss Jossle Crabill in voked many compliments. By way of addiug Eplco to the evening's enter tainment Judge Blackledgu addressed the audience in nls usual clever, witty style, presenting the girls who took up the free will sllvcrofferlng. His man ner of impressing those present with the extreme no;esslty of inakiutf a con tribution as a guarantee against per sonal violence and at tho same time making it perfectly clear that any off ering was purely voluntarily, was very amusing. Tho stage was artistically decorated with ilowers und lighted very effective ly. All loft tho Auditorium feeling highly pleasod with tho program and wo hope impressed with tho necessity of encouraging such organizations as the Community Chorus ns a means of high class entertainment and tho pro motion of a better community spirit. Sho Is reported as having made at tho ago of two years and ten months, a record of 417.1 lbs, of milk and 17.78S lbs. of butter fat, In seven days, equivalent to 22.2 lbs. of butter. The Champion Ilolstoln fcr Nebraska in tho Senior two-year old for seven day production is Rag Apple Korndyko Boon Dorothy, whoso record of 139,0 lbs. of milk and 20.051 lbs. of buttor fat, equivalent to 25 lbs. of butter, sur passes all others, according to tho re cords of the Ilolstoln. Steps will be taken to incorporate tho Asoolatiou which will give a more ellloient working organization. Many towns coiuplalned that no notice of assessment had been iccclved by them tho past year. Oftlcers were elected for tho ensuing year and plans made for a progressive campaign planned to make tho tiolden Rod Highway onu of tho leading routes of' tho nation. Mr. J. II. Ageo, of Superior, was inatlo presi dent, and each city Is represented by a Vice-President. Announcement was made that the new log books now be ing published would bo distributed in the immediate future. Red Cloud Joins Polly League The Red Cloud Base Ball Team has organized for tho coming season and bids fair to have one of the best teams this town has known for some seasons. There will bo no hired players but there Is suflicient local talent to com prise a winning team. A league has been formed composed of six teams Ilolstoln, Upland, Bind ci4 ltttio Hill, Lawrencoaud Red Cloud, Each team is limited to one salaried player and cannot pay this man more thnn $10 for each game. This loague is to bo called The Polly Loague, and will open May 7th, Red Cloud, playing tho first game at home with Upland on that date. A detailed schedule for the season will appear later. Sunday, April 23rd, Red Cloud goes to Rlvcrtou for a practice game. As yet thero is no game scheduled for April 30th but an effort will bo made to have a gamo here on that date. The team has received new suits that were ordered by W. Q. Hamilton. The suits are wbito with a navy stripe and will make our players look like a national leaguo assembly. This is the lineup that will start the season. Some changes may be made later after tho team is whipped into shnpe.
