Mayor Damerell being absent,
President A. It. Saladcn convened the
Council in regular session last night,
with all members present.
At the personal request of a um
ber of business men the Occupation
Ordinance was amended to raise the
fee for peddlers and street sale of
merchandise to 50.00 per day and on
Merry-Go-Hounds to 2.50 per day
for two weeks and 5.00 per day there
after.
On the personal complaint of Mrs.
MeFarland as regards the heights to
which her water bill had soared, Pres
ident of tho Council, appointed a com
mittee of one to go with Superintend
ent Bradford, investigate and adjust
the matter.
Tho report of S. R. Florance was
read and ordered placed on file, after
which tho notice of injury to W. A.
Kent was read to tho Council nnd also
placed on file.
In order to secure an extra 5 per
cent discount on purchases of oil from
the National Refining Co. by permit
ting ca.sh to accompany the order, the
city treasurer was instructed to honor
the order of the company and chargo
same to tho Electric Light Cash Fund.
The city engineer was instructed to
take up with C. B. & Q. officials tip
matter of draining tho lower cndVf
town of flood waters.
City Treasurer was instructed to
transfer 30.00 from the Electric
Light Cash Fund to tho Electric Levy
Fund and cancel the "500.00 warrant
registered against tho Electric Levy
Fund.
