Quite a crowd attended the funeral
services of Uittle Norma Birch at Red
Cloud Tuesday.
Rev. bailey preached his farewell
sermon at the Christian church Sunday
as he will soon louve for Wymore.
Mr.s. L. W. Thompson and son went
to Rlverton Saturday night and, were
called home Sunday evening by the
sudden Illness of her father, U. H.
Uoldredge.
The f uueral services of Little Norma
Hirch were held at tho M. fi. church
Tuesday at 2 p. m. Rev. Murless de
livered the sermon and took for his
text, "Asleep in Jesus".

Dale Laird of Lawrence suffered the
loss of a new Ford car Friday evening
when some party possessed himself of
the vehlole and forgot to return It
to the fair grounds where ho found it.
No clow has been found so far.
Tho Webster County Fair took place
h ire August 20, 21, 23 and 24 inclusive.
The rain on Tuesday the 21st caused u
hold-over of one day. The stock ex
hibit was excellent, a new 80 foot shed
being built to accomodato the animals,
Tho poultry department suffered a de
crease from other yearly oxhlblts as
did tho aarloultural department. Poor
crop conditions aro responsible for the
latter The school and fanny work de
partment were very well tilled. The
races were the main features of the
week, sonio soveuty horses being 011
the ground. Free acts by theDelmore
Trio and Ryan Brothers wore appre
ciated very much as were those of the
Lewis- Stock Co. Three ball games
were played, Wilcox vs Campbell, Wil
cox vs Uladon and Bladen vs Plalnvlow.
Music was furnished by the Plalnvlow
and Red Cloud hands.
Guy Barnes was In Bird City, Kan
sas the first of the week looking after
his land.
J, L. Uoebe went to Hastings today
to attend a churoh convention. t
