by accepting tho national provisions.
Mr. Stoncr, Mr. Vance. Mr. Iveenoy
and others were opposed to taking
hasty action, they wanted to know
whut they wem doing so they could
act intelligently.

ed that overybody was in favor of

Thursday inght lor the purpose of dis

F. K Payne, and as a ineniber of
the Fanner's Union, expressed himself
lu favor of accofiting govern uieut aid,
but that tho state manager was against
the proposition. The Union is oppos
ed to the measure because it thinks all
the money should be spent as It de
sires Geo II. Overlng explained to them
how the money thus lei'eived would lie
spent on all toads out side of towns
mid cities and how tho farmer would
derive the most benefit, f loin this ex
penditure. Aleo that under tho gov
ernment supci vision all money would
be spent in a manner that would do
tho most good nud not on any guess
work.

we are in favor of this manner of road
building, as should every loyal oiti.en,
as we feel that better roads could bo
