Judge Adams
At the morniug session of court Tues
day, after reading of the docket, the
judge ordered a recess upon which a
bar meeting was called, aad Judge
Duogan wan elected chairman with
Mr. Maurer as secretary. Messrs Qll
'-hekn, Ulackledgeand McNeoy were ap
ipolnted a 'committee to draft resolu
tions relative to the late Judge Adams
who was judge of this district for
ight years proceeding the present
Judge, and report at 4 o'clock.
At the appointed hour, the following
resolutions were reported; ,

Adams, a former judge of this court
died; and whereas Judge Adams dis
charged the duties of his otHoe with a
dignity, intelligence and impartiality,

Mr. Gllham spoke of the conditions
prevailing in court before the acces
sion of Judge Adams to the bench.
Mr. McNeny talked eloquently f
the judge as a lawyer, oitlzeu and
friend. "What ever was best he tried
to do, what ever was noblest be tried
to be. There caube no higher eulog)."
Mr. Ulaokledge made a fine presenta
tion of the relations between lawyers
and the judge, which produce a men'al
Intlmsoy, a sense of mind absorbing
mind tu arduous, yet unembittered
contest, a sense of mind quickened by
the contact with other minds in
earnest contention, yet freed from
animosity. We quote the following:

A Trip Through
Yellowstone Park
Mr. K. M, Cox, who for several yeara
has been u passenger conductor on the
C.U. & I, running out of here, i
rnakiug preparations to personally
conduct t trip through the famous
T.-llowstone Park', The excursion, as
planned by Conductor Cox, will leave
here August 1st, and is to consist of
eight days lu the park aud two days
in Salt Lake, and includes the well
known Burlington Route, the C. & 8.
and the D. & R. Q. lines. The tickets
will be good for 60 days with liberal
stop over pi ivileges This is one of
the gieatest of all the many sight see
lug exouruions which are given during
the summer months, and with such u
