Will Deidrick, tho deaf and dumb son of Harvey Deidrick who has been working on Miner's ranch for some time1, had the misfortune Wednesday to get tangled in one of the ropes of the patent stacker, and was thrown a dis tance of fifteen or twonty feet. Ho sustained quite severe injury about tho face and shoulder and was also injured internally. He is reported as getting along very well at this writing. On Sunday morning about two a.m. Chas Mornnvillo received a blow over tho left side of the head from a club or a sandbag which came very near end ing his days. Ho had beon doctoring a sick horso at C. M. Smith's livery barn nil night and hnd just started to make a trip to his rcsidenco to seo that everything was all right at homo. He wont out of the rent' end of the barn nnd hnd not gono moro than three or four steps when he received the blow Just how long ho was unconscious after receiving tho blow is not known, but when ho did recover tie was so weak from loss of blood that he could scarcely drag himself to his resldouco, one-half a block, and where he stayed nlono until morning, owing to tho fact that himself and wife had been slop ping at tho residence of her parents during tho absence of her mother, Mrs. J. H. Smith. Hero he was found by his wifo in tho morning scarcely able to move, and afraid to attempt to walk for fear of falling on tho street. Medi cal assistance was summoned and the wound dressed. An examination dis closed that the blow extended from the top of the head down across tho forehead and tho end of tho club or sandbag striking in the eyo and frac turing the skull jut above the eye, The eve is cut and also badly bruised and ho will probably lose the sight of it. The deed was evidently done for the purpose of robbery, as all the mon ey he had on his person, about $10 in silver, was taken. Mr. Mornnvillo is at present getting along as well us could be expected, but will no dou t bo laid up for some timo. w tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt tt We are Ready I .
