A test was given in nil branches Thursday morning. Teacher's exam ination will be held during the remain ing part of this woolc. Thursday morning tho teachers us semblcd at eight o'clock. A few songs were sung and tho instructors gave short farewell speeches. Thursday evening of last wcok Frof. Horn lectured at tho Al, E. church. His subject was "Wendell Phillips." Tho lecture was appreciated by all. Monday evening tho Teacher's Read ing Circle mot in tho Congregational church. Messrs McNitt, McHridc, White nud Spanoglo furnished part of tho music. Miss Lillian Ramoy read a paper on "Pupils' Heading Circle." Her paper was well prepared and well read. It was followed by a discussion of the same subject by Wm. HelTolbowcr. Miss Estella Ducket- took charge of Physics and llotany during this week. Miss Docker teaches science in the schools of Falle City and wo were pleas ed to havo her as instructor this wcok. Mrs. Case read a paper entitled "Tho Teacher from 4 p.m. until 9 a.m." Tho hearty applause which followed tho reading of her paper, showed that it was good. From listeu.ng to her pa per wo gained much that will help us to becomo better teachers. Prof. Kern had institute work en gaged elsewhere and could bo with us only one week. During that short time wo learned to nppreciato hit) methods of instruction and his ability as an instructor. Wo can truthfully say to him, "You're an honor to our profession." Good music was furnished every eve ninn. Tho orchestra played several times. Mrs. Damn and. Miss Lillian Smith sang n duot one evening and iirs. uonry uiarK sang a ucautiiui soio one evening. Red Cloud ought to bo proud of her musicians. Tuesday evening, Adrian Noweus lectured in the Congregational church. His subject was "A Singular Lifo." Ho also recited other selections. It was a rare treat to havo the pleasure of listening to him. Ho talked to tho teachers Wcduosday morning. JtKSULUTIONS.
