In speaking of tho trip of SherilT Wells to Superior with young Wohlcr the man who is supposed to havo tak en Oliver Hedge's team, tho Superior Journal says: "Geo. Woolsey had a little experience the other day with a bono thief. A man was arrested in Lincoln county, Kansas, for a Job of horse stealing in Webster county, and was taken to Red CIcmd. He claimed that be was in Superior on tho night the stealing occurred, and slept at the Superior house. The sheriff of Web ster county brought the man down here and asked Mr. Woolsey if he knew him. Mr. Woolsey said ho had nover seen him that he knew of. The man then said he had assigned him to a room on the night in question. Whon asked what mom he could not tell but on being taken up stairs ho picked out room ten. Tho register showed that on that night it was occupied by two other men. The alibi fell llat." A small boy was compelled by tho teacher to write an essay on "The Mouth" for some infraction of tho dis ciplino of the school room, and this is what he wrote: "Tho mouth is tho front door ef your face; it is tho aper ture to the cold storage of your anat omy.
