In connection with the current talk about the opening of new careers to women, the Pall Mall Gazelle thinks that a lady whose mode of life recently occupied the common pleas division at Dublin deserved no little credit She hid devoted her more mature years to the study of law, and more particularly to the law of breach of promise. The novelty of her case consisted fat the WMsker of actions which she managed to tw at the same time. In her last ease the unsusceptible jury awarded her only fifty dollars, but on her cross-ex-afluaatioa ia that case she confessed to kaving Jast sued another gentleman; whom she "really loved," & spite of his seventy winters, and of whom she bad obtained $600 damages. In a third lase she is believed'to have been more successful still, having induced the de fendant to compromise it by a payment of $3,000. It is perhaps n Tiew of the enterprise of this, lady and of others who are carrying on a like lucrative in dustry that an English Judge remarked in court the other day that he was not at all sarpised that manv neonle advo cated the abolition of actions for breach of promise. George Anderson, of Anne Arun del County, Virginia, took lunch and played a game of cards "just for fun." When he saw he was swindled out of eighty-five dollars he arose, grasped one windier with each brown Daw and hook them until their teeth rattle&Kke eastinetsaadhis moaey fairly jumped out of their pockety Whea thley had aeo ne discovered that they had forced five dollar mar than k take hkabaekio th green paetmrn af Aaae ArundeL OkisveflrraW. atfdMilLD.Bai iM$lM;atedoctor'4teMr OMOmeifnmiad Mk.) How Watch Cases an Mack. The many great improvements, intro duced in the manufacture of the Jas. Boss Gold Watch Case, have led to similar im provement in the making of silver cases. Under the old methods, each part of a silver case was made of several pieces of metal soldered together, requiring a great amount of cutting aud soldering, which softened the metal and gave it the pliability of lead rather than the elasticity of silver. Under the improved methods, each part of the Keystone Silver Watch Case is mule of one solid piece of metal hammered into shape. The advantages are readily appar ent, for every one knows that hammering hardens the metal while soldering softens it. To test the superiority of the Keystone Silver, Watch Case, take one of 3 os. weight, pras it squarely in the center when closed, and it will not give, while a case of same weight of any other make will give enough to break the crystal. The Keystone Silver Watch Case is nude only with silver cap and gold joints. Sra4 ml itmmp to KtptoM Watt aw Pm SclfUa, Pa, tar kmwfaaaM IHUmld rasatlrt i mm mat ItplM Wat I (3b U mmllmmti.)
