The object of his visit, as we understand it, is ?o make arrange ments with the Commi sioners of this county in regard to the payment f (axes on the B. & M. lauds in this county. We were shown by Mr Zeiss the other day, a .sample of rhubaru, or pie plant, which wa.i found growing in the woods on the south side of the river. It look-just like, and we believe is the genuine garden pie plant. How it happened to be growing will iti the Woods, we aie not able to ?ay. The evergreens' look fresh and beauti ful, and makes one think of his home "down ca-t." Why is it that we hear nothing from the otfiecr.5 of the Webster county Ag ricultural Society. Aic we to have a fair next fall, or has the citizen of Webster county lost all interest in the matter, and concluded to sit quietly down and make no effort to have a creditable fair uext fall. We should like to hear from some of the leading c.tizens ou this sjbjejt. A newiy made grave was di-covercd in LinOolo the other day. The coroner was sent for, and excitcmeut ran high. Men went to wotk with spades and shovels and the coffin was exhumed, and promptly cpene5, when it was t jund to contain a defuuet canine. The c fiin was lowered iuto the grave aga n and the old dog allowed to rest in peace. We went fishing tho other day, ovei on Elm Cieek. The party consisted of A. E. Touzalin, B. & M. Ball, (who by the way is a very accommodating gen tleman,) aud his" dip net was secured, and ihe fish was hauled out lively fur awhile, to the great wonder and de light of those of the party who were , novices in the business.
