This coming event has been casting its shadow before for some time in our little burgh, and not often are two peo ple united in the holy bonds of wed lock who cany with them more of the good wishes of the people than do this couple. "Frank," as he is generally known, is one of our most enterprising and industrio':. young businessmen; and Miss Lottie is the daughter of one of Plattsmoutlfs oldest settlers and staunchost citizens. The relatives of the bride and groom and a few intimate friends comprised the guests. The ceremony took place about eleven o'clock. Tlie bride's dress was drab grox yruiii made with trained skirt and basque, tins trimmings of tulle, arranged in sash ends and loop ings at the back. After the ceremony aud the attendant congratulations.dur ing which tlie bride an.l groom com ported themselves with becoming dig nity, a dinner was served of the most bountiful kind. ' Among the wed. ling presents were a handsome castor, a butter cooler, two very handsome napkin lings, inscribed with "Fuank" and "Eottik," and the groom's present to the bride, a very handsome watch and chain. They left on the afternoon train for a short bridal trip, the good wishes of their many friends following them. CAUTION. John Brown was very low and not expected to live many days' Hon. John Barnes left on Wednes day for Greeley, Col., to take such steps for his comfort as may be found neces sary. L. F. lieed, of Weeping Water, and of Heed Bros called to see the Herald Tuesday. He is looking much better and has the same old push and snap about him. Hon. A. L. Sprague called around and helped us out of a tight pinch last week, for which we are under many obligations, Sam Rector of Weeping Water, one of the best of Cass citizens called on the IlEitALO Tuesday. We were very much pleased to see him. Champion Sc Babbington, two of our best carpenters, have received the con tract for doing the carpenter work on Fitzgerald's new farm house. It is to be a very large and handsome dwelling. They also have the wood work of P. E. Itu fTner's residence. Julius Pepperberg, cigar man and one of the cutest, cleverest, handsomest little fellows in this town or any other goes east this week for a new stock of tobacco, and other things. I'pton, commander of ca dets at West Point, has been relieved and Lieut. Col. Thos. H. NY-ill has been ordered to that point.
