DRAMATIC.
The entertainment under the auspi
ces of Richard Claiborne, gave a very
good performance on Monday evening.
The audience was hardly large enough
to reward them for the pains they had
taken to give satisfaction. Lack of
space forbids our making any special
notice of the various actors, and in
deed, where all did so well it would be
hard to criticise.
A small number participated in the
ball afterwards.

to the welfare of Plattsmouth, to be

Our friend Murphy, Photographer of
this, place has been out with Col. Cur
ley taking views of Kearney and other
places for the Colonel's new book.
Mr. (!il Hildebrand, a brother-in-law
to Will Brentner, called in to see us
Saturday. He is from Highland, Xew
Hampden county, Virginia, and is very
much pleased with Nebraska. He in
tends to remain here some time.
Mr. John Edmonds, of Prairie Ronde,
Michigan, called in to see us Tuesdav.
He is an old friend and schoolmate of
Rush Fellows, and is going to run a
farm near Rock Bluffs, in this county.

Wm. L. Wells was elected Secretary.
Jos. Johnson. Wheeler, Prongor and
Stiles were appointed on credentials.
Each ward was empowered to cast
the full vote of the Ward.
On the first formal ballot E. G. Po
vey was nominated

On the third ballot, Wm. L. Wells

On the first ballot II. J. Streight was
nominated
FOR TREASURER.
