" Sheriff Cutler arrested a drunken man, yesterday, who had been kicked out of some saloon, and was lying in the slough on the corner of Main and 5th sts. when found, witli his head in the mud. and in danger of being suffocated in the filthy water. There was a crowd around, peering at him, but not one offered to lend a helping hand to get him out of his dangerous position. Chaplain Lozier gave a very inter esting and sensible temperance lecture Tuesday Evening. The wind up of the camp meeting was rather sudden on Monday forenoon, but Mr. McKelvey tells us that it has been a highly interesting and satisfac tory meeting indeed and that at least one hundred persons were led seriously to consider religious matters, some 40 were converted. to behold. at last! at last! THE (iHEAT TEXT called the Tabernacle, is pitched on the west side of the grounds, and is a large affair; some 00 ft. in diameter and very tastefully trimmed. Just east of this is a large house tent, belonging to the Church at Lincoln, and for the Ministers to sleep in, and for the child ren s prayer meetings. Fourteen other tents are on the ground already, and The smoke from their camp-fire rises high in the nir. And mingles aloft with the words of their prayer. The outsiders pray for one ; kind of lain, and those in the tent for j another kind of Reign rain of clouds and earth, and the oth er the reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, and of peace here and hereafter. LAST TIME. Streight says he feels so thankful for rain he has almo.-t a mind to go in and shout his thanks out loud.
