Two of our Temperance ladies had
business at the City Clerk's office, lately,
i Never having visited that official be
fore, and ignorant of the localities of
City Hall Pla- in Plattsmouth, they
bounced into Frank Guthmann's Bil
liard Hall, and were so astonished that
they could only stand aghast with
open months. Frank was 'struck "all
of a h-ap, and thinking his time had
come, he dropped on his knees to peti
tion for deliverance. Just then Dr.
Wintersteen happened along, and
taking in the situation at a glance he
kindly led the bewildered Good Tem
plars into the sanctum sanctorem of
i the grand "sanhedrim" of city wisdom.
Somebody else got married in town
yesterday morning, but we couldn't
find out just how it was done, and
have to omit the particulars.
ACCIDENTALY SHOT.
As Mr. Alonzo Cunningham was out
hunting yesterday, he " accidently
stumbled and discharged his gun, part
of the load entering his hand inflicting
a painful but not dangerous wound.
He had a narrow escape as the powd-
I er burnt his hair, so close was the gun
to ins lace.

As the train stopped at the depot on j

Walker, hitched to an express wagon,
took fright and started to run away.

jumped in front of his horses and
grabbed them by the bridle but the
horses were going so fast he was
knocked down, one of the horses fall

was so deep the fall did not injure him.
The wagon was overturned, throwing
the little boy out, barely missing a car
iu his fall ; the horses got loose f rora
the wagon and the ono which fell on

street where they wre both caught.
