D. 1871, for a judgment against said dcliuuueut
lands and lots ta.s herewith advertised anil de
serihed) for the taxes, interest penalties and
costs due thereon, and for an order to sell said

I hereby Mve further notice that 1 will, on the
1:5th day of April. A. 1. lM74(it being the fourth
Monday thereafter sis fixed by law, expose all
of said delinquent lands and lots for public sale,
at the front door of the Court House, in 1'iatts
iiiouth City, Cass county, Kebraska, for the
amount of taxes, interest, penalties and costs
due t hereon, according to law, then and there
to sell the same for said delinquent taxes, inter
est, penalties and costs.

arisen affecting the right of citizens of

reside in, or travel over a certain por- j
tion of that State, said questions being J
based upon a possible construction of I

Whereas this construction is repudi
ated by the commissioners on the part
of tho United States who framed the
treaty as being contrary to the mean
ing anil intent of said treaty, and
would be a violation of the rights of a
sovereign State; and
Whereas, it is desirable for the nres-
Ilur- j ervation of peace, and for the common
good of both white men and Indians
that all uncertainty and doubt as to
the proper construction of this article
should be forever removed: Therefore,
Jij it enacted by the Senate aivl House
of Representatives of the United States
of Anwri'-a in Cowres assembled.
That so much of said treaty of April
twentj-ninth eighteen hundred and
sixty-eight, as might by any such con
struction, allow said Sioux Indians to
reside in or roam and hunt over any
portion of the State of Nebraska, or as
might exclude white men from trav
eling over or settling upon any portion
of said State, is hereby declared abro
gated and void.

ture thereof we see noticed by all the
great daily papers as well as the prom
inent weeklies that come to our table.
; We allude to article 3th which says:

their merits in the meetings." The
whole article is full of good sense and

Tho State Grange, of Indiana lately
passed resolutions declaring that their
organization is not for political pur
poses, and amnning that they will not
