"Vice-President Colfax passed through Omaha last Monday, on his return from the Pacific Coast. During his stay in Omaha he was the guest of Hon. Geo. W. Frost Nearly fifty emigrant wagons crossed into Nebraska at this place yesterday, each one carrying a family. They were thrifty looking people, just the kind we want in Nebraska. Gen. Thayer has procured the estab lishment of two new post offices in Seward Co., one at Ulysses (noticed yesterday) and one named Earle, with John J. Welch as post master. A considerable amount of stock has been taken in this city in the Great Western Telegraph Company. ILj has a small quantity of the red Nansemond, a now variety in these parts. He thinks they "are a little hardier than the yellow, i though probably not quite so proline. We learn that ye.-terday morning while Mrs. C. II. Kim:, Mr?. Mr. Gray appears to be an inoiTen sive man, but has teen pouring large quatities of ' the enemy" down him since he arrived iu this place. He was undoubtedly crazed with liquor, and be ing out of fund?, took the gun and sold it for money with which to buy whisky, lie appears like a man who has been well raised, but whom whisk has utter ly destroyed.
