It has also received strong expressions of commenda tion rromllon. C. S. Flint, Secretary of the Massachu setts Board of Agriculture, Hon. J. V C. Smith, ex Mayor of Boston. Hollis Bowman, of Bangor. Me. Don. James Allen, of Massachusetts, lion Marshall P Wilder of Massachusetts, Piof. Mapes, of Xew York, and nu merous others. Iu addition to the above, we have certificates from a large number of distinguished men, who are interested in our agricultural industry, who endorse the merits of this machine in the strongest terms. Among them, the lion. Ilcnry W. Benchley, of Mass., who siiys : I have had repeated opportunities of witnessing the practical operation of Mr. Spear's Corn Ilusker, and have tested it thoroughly, and unhesitatingly pronounce it beyond comparison the best, if not the only practical without injury to the corn, and with astonishing rapid ity. Its simplicity of construction, rapid aud efficient working and low price, will, in my judgments command for it an unlimited sale , The undersigned have the pleasure of informing the farminS community that they have this day, August 29, 1859, purchased from the patentee the right of man ufacturing and selling ''Spear's Corn Ilusker." and are prepared to fill orders with promptness and dispatch. Farmers and all others interested, desiring further information will please write for circular. All orders and letters should be addressed to BRAGG & BURR3WES, St. Louis, Mo. Office, corner of Third and Market streets. no lvl OffF'or Tezsziss. THE undersigned, desiring to start about the 10th of Septemberfor Texas, will sell either for cash in hand or upon a short time to good men : One Dwelling Ilouse in the City of Brownville with Two Lots enclosed, a good garden and outhouses upon the premises. D. L. McGARY. ' May 19 7-n4it "COMBINATION PATENT." UPRIGHT STEAM SAW 3IIIA. This mill commands the universal admiration of saw mill men everywhere. As its merits become known, the demand for it iucreascs. Orders arc coming from every section of this country, Canada, Cub;i, and South Ameri ca. It is suited for every section of the world wherever there is timber to be sawed, no matter of what character how hard, how large or how small. Two extensive ma nufactories are now engaged in buildiug these mills, yet it is almost impossible to turn them out as fast as they are wanted. They embrace several valuable patents and improvements, aud combine all of the following ad- Simplicitij Both the mill and power are so simple in their construction that anyone of ordinary mechanical ability can comprehend tbem.put them up and ruu tliera without d.inser or difficulty. PortabilityThe whole establishment can be very quickly taken apart aud put togethar, thus rendering it easy to be moved from place to place asdesired. and sav ing the necessity of drawing the logs a loug distance to Durability It is constructed in the most solid end substantial manner, runs perfectly still, is not liable to get out of order, and will last for years without repair. Rapidity It will saw faster than any other uprisht upright mill. The speed of th? saw is about three hun dred strokes per minute, and the feed from one-eighth to three-quarters of an inch per 6troke. Thus, at a medium spool the saw will cut through a kg twenty-four feet long in about three minutes. From this data any one knowing tl character of the timber can calculate how much it will do. Efficiency It does its work well, cut smoother and straighter than the ordinary mills, and the arrangement of the saw is such as to render it utterly impossible for it to run out of line. Cheapness The entire lost of the mill, with fifteen horse power and everything all complete and ready for running, boxed and ready for shipment in St. Louis, is only $1,750. This mill requires less power to drive than any other mill, and the power f urnished is suflxien to drive extra machinery. . A circular containing full particulars will be sent to any one desiring it. All ordert should he addressed to BRAGG tc Bl'RROWES, Corner Third and Market streets, St. Louis, Mo., sole agents for the Western and Southern States. 4S-ly Important to Farmers. Messrs.
