THE PURPOSES Of A FAMILY PHYSIC. 1 TnVns' has Ion? existed a public dcrornd for an effccUpnritive pill whiccould be relied on iu cnecuTc v 6Terntion. Iflis has KITTItt ST1I1 Ul.lWJ been prewired to meci. : , Atrial of its virtues has conclusively shown wita what success it accomplishes the purpose designed. It is cy to make a physical J" A. make the best of all pUls-ovc which should hare none of the objections, bnt ad the advantages, of every other. This has been attempted here, and wife what success we would respectfully submit to the tmblic decision. It has been, unfortunate for the patient hitherto tha almost every purgative medicine is acrimonious and irritating to the bow els. This is not, Many of them produce so much srripin" pain and. revulsion in the system as to more than counterbalance the good to be derived from them. These piu produce no irritation or pain, unless it arise from a previously existing obstruc tion or derangement in the bowels. Being purely vegetable, no'harm can arise from their use in any quantity ; but it is better that any medicine should be taken judiciously. Minute directions for their use in the several diseases to which they are ap plicable are given on the box. Amtrg the com plaints which have been speedily cured by them, we maj mention Liver Complaint, in its various forms cf jaundice. Indigestion, Languor and Loss of Ap petite, Listlcssness, Irritability, Bilious lleadache, Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side and Loins ; for, in truth, all these are but the eon sequence of diseased action in the liver. " As an arx-rient they afford prompt and sure relief in Cos tiveness. Piles, Colic, Dysentery, Humors, Scrofula and Scurvy, Colds with soreness of the body, Ulcers and impurity of the blsod, Irregularities ; in short, any and every case where a purgative is required. They have also produced some singularly suc cessful cures in Rheumatism, Gout, DroDsy, Gravel, Ervsipelas, Palpitation of the Heart, Pains in the Bjxk. Stomach, and Side. Thev should be freely taken in the spring of the year, to purify the blood and prepare tne system tor me cnange oi seasons. Ait o eras Lor. al dose stimulates the stomach and bowels into- healthy action, and restores the appe tite and vigor. They purify the blood, and, by their stimulant action on the circulatory system, reno vate the strength of the bedy, and restore the wasted or diseased energies of the whole flrsanlim Hence an occasional, tlose is advantageous, even though no serious derangement exists; but nn necessary dosing should never be carried too far, as", every purgative medicine reduces the strength, when taken to excess. The thousand cases in which a physic is required cannot be enumerated here, but they suggest themselves to the. reason of every body ; and it is confidently believed this pill will answer a better purpose than any thing which has hitherto been available to mankind. When their virtues are once known, the public will no longer doubt what remedy to employ when in need of a cathartic medicine. Being sugar-wrapped, they are pleisant to take and being purely vegetable,- no harm can arise from their use in any quantity. For minute directions, see wrapper on the Box PREPARED BY DR. JAMES C. ATEK, Practical and Analytical Chemist, ; I:. ,.; LOWELL, MASS. Price 25 Cent per Pox. This remedy has won for itself such notoriety from its cures of every variety of pulmonary disease, that it is entirely unnecessary to' recount the evi dences of its vi.tues in any community where it has been employed. So wide is the field of its use fulness, and so numerous the cases of its cures, that almost even section of the country abounds in persons publicly known, who have been restored from alarming . and even desperate diseases of the lungs by its use. When nee tried its superiority over every other medicine ef its kind is too appa rent t p e -eherrmtieit, Mid vrbcraits rirtnfi art known; the public no loi.ger hesitate what antidote to employ for the distressing and dangerous affec tions of the pulmonary organs which are incident to our climate. Not only in formidable attacks upon fhe lungs, but for the milder varieties of Colds, Covghs, Hoarseness, Ac ; and for Chil dren it is the pleasantest and safest medicine that tan be obtained. As it has long been- in constant ti throughout this section, we need not do more than assure the people its quality is kept op to the bjst that it ever has been, and that the genuine article is sold by J.
