F~ Social Briefs Miss Iona Adams, who now makes her home in Des Moines, Iowa, spent a few days in the city as guest of Miss Joyce Williams. * * * Mr. Joseph Green has returned alter spending several weeks in Chicago, 111., visiting at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Green. * * * The Lancaster County Council of Human Relations met at the YMCA on Friday afternoon with vice president, Mrs. L. W. Horne, presiding. The question of housing was one of the main topics of dis cussion. * * • Mrs. Esther Green of Los An geles, California, was honoree at a handkerchief shower given for her by Mrs. Ruth Williams at her home, 2236 R Street. Thirteen ladies were present. Mrs. Green received many beautiful handker chiefs. • • • Missionaries Installed The installation and appoint ment of Home Missionaries of Christ Temple Mission, 2146 U Street, took place at the evening * service on Sunday. Mrs. Margie Turner was ap pointed and installed as chairman of the Home Missionary Society, Mrs. June Campbell, Mrs. Nina Layman and Mrs. Constance Cas mer were appointed and installed as home missionaries. The ap pointments and installation were made by the Rev. Trago Mc Williams, pastor of the church. The regular service schedule at Christ Temple is: Sunday School, 10:00 a.m.; Morning service, 11:00 ; a.m.; Evening service, 7:30 p.m.; < Prayer service on Wednesday at < 7:30 p.m. , • • • CARD OF THANKS The family of Fred Galloway wishes to thank their many friends and neighbors for the cards, telegrams, flowers and the many other kind expressions dur ing their recent bereavement. Miss Sampson Household Hints By Miss Mary Sampson 2811 S. 24 — 3-621£ «Bd Mrs. Odessa Johnson isit a at. — J-eioi Mrs. Johnson Double Dessert Treat 1 eg* white 2 tablespoons sugar 1 egg yolk 2 cups milk 2 or 3 tablespoons sugar ■4 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca H teaspoon vanilla Regal Chocolate Sauce METHOD: Beat egg white until foamy through out; add 2 table spoons sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, and continue beating with rotary egg beater until mixture will stand in soft peaks. Set aside. Mix egg yolk with about V* cup of the milk in saucepan. Add 2 or 3 tablespoons sugar, salt, quick cooking tapioca, and remaining milk. Place over medium heat. Cook until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly—this takes 5 to 8 minutes. Pour small amount of hot tapioca mixture gradually on beaten egg whites, blending well. Then quickly add the remaining mixture, stirring constantly. (The hotter the tapioca and the faster it is blended in, the thicker and fluffier the pudding will be.) Add vanilla. Cool, stirring once after 15 ;o 20 minutes. Chill. For adults, irrange tapioca cream and Regal Chocolate Sauce in alternate lay ers in parfait glasses. For chil iren, serve tapioca cream topped vith a spoonful of red jelly and m animal cracker. Fourth Floor _ For 8 to 10 servings, double the recipe using 1 or 2 eggs, % quick cooking tapioca, and double other ingredients. To make Regal Chocolate Sauce, combine 2- squares un sweetened chocolate, and 6 table spoons water in saucepan. Place over low heat and stir until blended. Add Vz cup sugar and a dash of salt. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is very slightly thickened. Add 3 tablespoons butter and Va teaspoon vanilla. Blend. Makes about 1 cup sauce. Baked Eggs With Sausages 2 potatoes—4 tbsp. butter—6 sausages sliced—1 tsp. salt—M tsp. pepper—Vi cup peas (cooked) —2 red peppers diced—1 cup to matoes—1 tbsp. parsley chopped— 4 eggs — 2 tbsp. cream — % tsp < pepper—Vb tsp. cayenne pepper.
