Memory Selection—Fear not: for, behold I bring you good tid ings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11. President Day Application By Frederick D. Jordan « Los Angeles, Calif. Christmas is not only a time for celebrating what has taken place, but a time for praising God for the great victories that are ours through the Christ thaf was born in Bethlehem. Christ’s coming concerns us all because He came to be the Saviour of the world. At a time like this we should praise God. Governments of this world are radically changing, bit terness and covetousness and sus picion seem to characterize all international relationships, and the dread of another war hangs over our heads, but we praise Him for the knowledge that the day is coming when all the gov ernments of this earth will be under His control and there will be but one—the kingdom of our Lord, and there will be forever a reign of righteousness. All this comes to us with the coming of the Christ. Because Christ was born He could give His life as a ransom for you and me. Redemption from sin is the greatest need of the world. Christ gives to us a per fect example of character and conduct for all time. The influ ence of His life and teachings transforms men and the very fab ric of the social order is effected when His spirit operates upon human hearts. Our growth as Christians, our realization of a victorious life depends upon our honoring Him not merely on one day of the year, but during every day that we live. Christ’s com ing was significant because of what was involved in it and what it ultimately meant to the world.
