In it he gave six rules for getting power and strength and deeper happiness. First, go to church regularly. This will give you repeated doses of prayer and faith. Second, go in a relaxed condition, both mentally and phy sically. Sit peacefully, quietly and relax your body. Third, free your mind from all grudges. Pray for the folks you don’t like and ask God to help you mean what you say. Fourth, Use the art of con templation to help you relax. Get your mind away from the things of the world. Fifth, Expect great things from God. He can make out of you an ordinary person an extraordinary one. Sixth, as you sit there, accept the fact that what you are being taught will work. Then live it.—The Founda tion. J. G. Psalms 8:2; 22:1, 16-18; 91:9-12; 103:8-12; 110:1; 118:22-23; Mat thew 21:15-16, 38-42; 22:41-45; Luke 24:44. Psalm 119:1 and Matthew 22: 41-46. This messianic psalm 110 is worthy to be set in a frame of gold and diamonds, Luther de clares. The psalmist seems to hear Jehovah addressing the King, inviting him to a seat at his right hand, the place of honor. Jesus quotes the woxds in Mt. 12:44 (Mark 12:36 and Luke 20:42). See also Acts 2:34; Heb. 1:13. Psalm 118:22 and 23 and Mat thew 21:38. Luther says of the 118th psalm; “This is my psalm, the psalm I love.” It is be lieved that Jesus and his disci ples sang this psalm at the close of the meeting in the upper room in Jerusalem, before they started on their way to Geth semane, Matt. 26:30. Verse 2 is supposed to have been suggested by an incident in the building of the temple: Mt. 21:42; Acts 4:11; I Peter 2:4-7. Head, verse 22, means headstone. Psalm 22. This is the psalm of the cross. “Our Savior is in every syllable,” Dr. F. B. Meyer writes. “Indeed, it reads more like history than prophecy. The divine Sufferer evidently re peated it to himself when on the cross, for it begins with ‘My God, my God, why hast thou for saken me?” and it ends in the ] Hebrew, when translated liter ally with ‘It is finished.’ ” “Whatever may have been the local conditions creating this psalm, it has become so perfectly and properly associated with the One Son of God that it is almost impossible to read it in any other way,” are Dr. G. Campbell Mor gan’s words. “It has two great movements. The first admits us, as far as that can be, to the lonely suffering of the Victim on the altar of sacrifice (verses 1-21). The second brings us into the joy of the Victor, and through the travail he saw the triumph (verses 1-31).” ONE-STOP LOANS $100-$200-$300 or More FAMILY FINANCE CO. 206 1st Nat. NSMA Continued from Page 1 Dr. McCarthy said: “The Ne braska medical profession be lieves that the nation’s health is of such primary importance that it merits a place equal to other departments in the President’s cabinet. This new department would be in agreement with the Hoover Commission recommen dation for a United Medical Ad ministration.” The state medical association president asserted that the American Medical Association has for many years recom mended the founding of a Fed eral Department of Health with a secretary who is a doctor of medicine. She gives her concept of a liberal in her column. “If you Ask Me,” in the McCalls magazine. A “liberal,” writes the former First Lady “tries to see a prob lem from as many points of view as possible and then decides which is the point of view which will benefit the greatest number of people.” Pursuing her theme to a con cise conclusion she says, “He need not be either conservative or radical, but he must be able to be objective, to try to free him self from prejudice and to sub ordinate his own special interests of the people as a whole.” tors support this stand, believing that all of the nation’s health ac tivities could be better co-ordi nated under a single department of health headed by a doctor. “Medicine has made significant advances during the past 50 years,” Dr. McCarthy continued, “and if permitted to remain free, the practice of medicine will continue to find new means of caring for the people’s sick nesses. Nebraska doctors, as well as those from all parts of the country, feel that a Federal De partment of Health would be a distinct value in the integration of these advances—to the ad vantage of the people.” Register Continued from Page 1 Tuesday evening thereafter are the dates set for registration.
