Handy Subject: “The Kingdom of God.” Lesson test: Luke 4:16-20, Mark 4:26-29, Romans 14-17. Memory verse: “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matt. 6:10. —Application for Today Today we see the various king doms of the earth, breaking up and new kingdoms being formed and confederations established. From history we learn that these new pacts are doomed to die aborning. Only one kingdom has and will endure the storms of time —and that kingdom is the King dom of God. God’s kingdom is that realm in which He rules over all toeings who voluntarily place themselves under His will. To understand this lesson fully we need to read the text and then pray for Divine guidance. Earthly kingdoms are visible kingdoms. We see the King, the Parliament, the trap pings. God’s kingdom “cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say Lo here, Lo there; for behold the Kingdom of God is within you.” So God is assembling His sub jects from those men and women who open their hearts and wel come His Holy Spirit to dwell therein, where His love will take root and grow. Mark compares it to a seed placed in the ground which sprouts and grows. The growdh ^comes on silently and gradually. “First the blade, then the ear, after that the full com in the ear.” While the Kingdom is not now “by observation,” ulti mately it will come with outward show. The most important part of a kingdom is the King. When Jesus comes again “in the clouds, and every eye shall see Him,” then the kingdom shall be manifest. 'Now let us glance at the conclusion of the whole matter: “For the King dom of God is not meat and drink; ONE-STOP LOANS $100-$200-$300 or More FAMILY FINANCE CO. 206 1st Nat. Bk. Bids. B. A. GOLD'S Bueml Letters to the Editors Dear Editors: With congratulations to ‘•'Hie Voice” which I consider one of the greatest little newspapers printed in our capital city of Nebraska. I cannot say how much I enjoy reading The Voice. I do not believe I ever read one more instructive and heartily thank you for the op portunity to occupy a short space to fill in with a few lines which I think is Very important at this time. I wish to say just a few words to the Christians or church people and best citizens who do not seem to be interested in politics and fail to prepare themselves for vot ing by failing to register. It is the duty of every good American citi zen. We must not forget that the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude. Some church people say they do not believe in politics. I but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.” In this evil world, God’s sub jects need an anchor, a hope for better things. We long for peace and joy and contentment. The Saviour of the world whose prom ises never fail, has promised these and He has promised that we can see and take part in His corona ■ tion, when His kingdom is con j sumated. 10c-25f-45« Lincolns Favorite Potato Chip QUALITY PHOTOS Lower Prices-^-F*ster Service PHOTO NOOK • t.m. to 9 Mi. mmd Sunday* 1443 “O” Street Lincoln. GLARHM CLOTHES FOR MEN corveo 11TH a O STF must say to them that they have a responsibility in helping to run this government. They' must face the responsibility or the wicked part of the people will go forward to drift at the whims of their minds in the future as they have in the past, and the outcome will be an evil lesson to our future generation. I shall urge every Christian to take an active part in making this a government which will be of benefit to all its citizens. We must remember it is the duty of every good citizen to take an active part in the politics of this country as politics is one of the strongest weapons to clear the path to freedom of speech and the right to worship God according to the dictates of ones own con science. It gives us the power and liberty to obey the laws of God. NIMROD ROSS, Lincoln, Neb. Dear Editor: I appreciate the fine compliment you paid me in “The VOICE” of March 11. I consider it a privilege to be able to contribute something to so worthy a cause. Sincerely, R. T. MALONE. Lincoln, Neb.
