Use candle clips on your Christ mas tree without danger of fire by inserting a peppermint stick instead of a candle. Writing with wrapping cord is fun, and will delight the person to whom you’re giving the pack age. Wrap the gift, leaving ends of wrapping cord long. Brush them with resin glue (no odor) and when nearly dry, twist into shape. Angel Salad. 2 tblsp. butter 1 c. heavy cream, 4 egg yolk*, beaten whipped 1 tblsp. .sugar «/4 n>. walnuts, 2 tblxp. vinegar coarsely ground V4 c. milk No. 3 can cm,;.. J Vi t*p. salt pineapple, drained Vi lb. marshmallow'll. Green citron cut in fourths Candied cherries Melt butter in top of double boiler. Add combined egg yolks, sugar, vinegar, milk, and salt. Cook over gently boiling water un til thickened, 2 min., stirring con stantly. Add marshmallows. Stir and beat until marshmallows dis solve, about 6 min. Cool. Fold cooled egg and marshmallow mix ture into whipped cream. Fold sauce into nuts and pineapple. Pour into 1 % qt. molds. Chill. Un mold. Garnish with pieces of ci tron and candied cherries. Lowell Davis had as her dinner guests Sunday Miss Esther Parker and Mrs. Sam Neal. * * * Mrs. Alonzo Adams and her daughter, Mrs. Luther Givehand are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green while attending their hus band and father who is a patient at the Veterans Hospital. * * * Mrs. Lenora Roberts and her daughter, Willene motored to Kansas City along with her sis ter, Mrs. Edwin Hammond. * * * Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Huston mo tored to Atchison, Kansas Sunday morning November 30 where they spent the day as guests of Mrs. Lucille Potter who had a family dinner. They were accompanied by their daughter Bettie Rose and her guest Winifred Winston who enjoyed the day immensely. • • • Mrs. John Johnson has returned from a three week vacation in New York City, Washington, D. C., Chicago, 111., and Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas. Mrs. Johnson’s leisure time during this vacation what we owe the world. Let us resolve to put our rights in the background and put our duties in the middle—distance and our chances to do a little more than our duties in the foreground. Let us resolve that our fellow man is just as real as we are and try to look beyond his face and see how/ his heart seeks joy. Let us resolvg to admit that probably the only good reason for our own existence is not what we get out of life but what we put into life. Let us re solve to close our book of com plaints against the management of our universe and look around ourselves and see how many places we can find to sow a few seeds of happiness. John Miller.
