I’m sorry these higher notes are all off key. I haven’t practiced much of late, you see Some of the lower notes won’t even play When you touch them with your gentle hand Master, someone who didn’t understand Played too harshly while you were away. Dear Master, do you think perhaps I could Tune this faulty instrument, if I would? Maybe—if I study in your Book And look to you for help as once I looked. We could mend these notes together, then That I had thought would never play again. Then—Oh then! The melody comes through You play once more the way you used to do The lovely motif of our symphony As God planned it, Master, thanks to Thee For bringing music, sweet and true to Thee Again—from this once poor instrument of mine. —Mary Lucile Jenkins. Crumble and add one cake of yeast and stir until it be comes smooth. Add 2% to 3 cups of good biscuit mix. Stir until a soft dough. Make into rolls & let rise until double in bulk. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 25 minutes. Can be kept in refrig erator and used as wanted. Parsnip Fritters 2 Cups boiled parsnips (drain and mash) Add 2 tbls. melted butter 1 tsp. salt. 1 egg unbeaten Mix thoroughly and make into cakes about M inch thick and fry in deep fat until golden brown. • * * • Russian Tea % cup sugar hi cup water Vs teasp. powdered .cloves 1 2” stick cinnamon 1 teasp. grated lemon rind 1 teasp. grated orange rind ¥4 cup orange juice 2 tbls., lemon juice ¥4 cup pineapple juice 3 cups boiling water V4 cup tea leaves Combine first six ingredients. Boil 10 minutes. Remove cinna mon; add juices; keep hot. Pour boiling water over tea. Steep 10 minutes. Strain. Combine mix tures. Serve in tea or punch cups. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Cheese Scrambled Eggs 2 tblsp. fortified margarine 6 eggs, beaten *2 teasp. salt Vs teasp. pepper l/z cup milk l1^ 3-oz. pkgs. cream cheese Melt margarine in double boil er. Tip it back and forth to cov er sides. Combine eggs with salt, pepper, milk. Cook in dou ble boiler, over boiling water, un til eggs just begin to set on bot tom and sides. Then occasion ally scrape bottom and sides gent ly with spoon, so liquid portion flows to bottom. Repeat until eggs are nearly set. Fold in cheese cut in small pieces. Serve at once on toast.
