Meet held in the University of Nebraska Stadium. Mr. Lacy is sports reporter for the Afro American newspaper in Washing ton. They were guests of Miss Katherine Thompson. • t • • Rev. and Mrs. E. B. Childress of Omaha were also in attendance at the A.A.U. Meet. They were accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Hawkins also of Omaha. * * * * Mr. Joe Yancy, of the New York Interracial Athletic Club of New York City was a prominent figure at the A.A.U Meet. * * * * Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Adams spent the three-day holiday peri od in Sioux City, Iowa. They were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Fields. * * * * Delores, Carolyn and Beatrice left Sunday afternoon for Chi cago with their daddy, Mr. Wm. R. ^ Greene who spent the Fourth as the guest of Mr. Greene’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Greene. The children are members of the Jolly Playmate Club of The Voice and we hope they will have a lot of interesting news for us on their return. * * * * Mrs. Brevy Miller was called to Omaha to attend the funeral of Mrs. Eva Levison. * * * * Mr. Herman Tapp left Sunday for Omaha where he has employ .i. .t—t—♦—*— ment. His family will join him in the near future. * * * * Mr. William Wynn of Omaha was a week end visitor in the city. * * * • We hear that Mr. I. B. Colley is vacationing in New York City. • * * * Word was received that Miss Mary Nelson who has been in China for the past 18 months is now in LosAngeles, California, where she plans to make her home. * * * * Junior Church Organized Under the direction of Rev. B. T. McDaniels a Junior Church was recently organized at the Church of God in Christ at 20th and U, for the purpose of giving the youth more direct training and instructions in the methods doctrines and spiritual life of the church. This group will meet the second Sunday of each month with Miss Joyce Williams, University of Ne braska student, as its supervisor. • * • • Sewing Circle An interesting afternoon meet ing each Wednesday afternoon is the Sewing Circle which meets by invitation in a home between the hours of 1 and 3, it was an nounced by Mrs. M. B. Denton, 2025 S Street.
