'I Miss Jaunita Favors, Professor of Education at Samuel Houston College in Austin, Texas, recently visited in Omaha at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Charles Favors. Miss Favors is the youngest sister of our Rev. John S. Favors of Lincoln. She visited Rev. and Mrs. J. S. Favors in Lincoln Tues day. * * * * Baby Stephenia Cooke, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Cooke is home much improved after spending several weeks in the 1 hospital. * * * * Mrs. John C. Adams 540 No. 22nd and Mrs Virginia Johnson, 2301 “S” Street underwent sur gery recently. * * * * Mi's. Ann Smitherman spent several days in Chicago. Mr. Ollie Griffen of St Paul, Minnesota spent Sunday in the city visiting friends. Mr. Griffen was a student at the University of Nebraska in 1932. • • • • * Mr. L. L. McVey, founder of the ".Annual Spring Musical in Omaha accompanied Walter Bell’s Im peralist singers to Lincoln Fri day night. * * * • Mrs. Corene Neal is convers ing at ler home after several weeks illness. * # * * After spending three months as a patient at Lincoln Veteran’s Hospital, Mr. Alonzo Adams was allowed to return to his home in Nebraska City for ten days. Mr. Adams is much improved. * * • • ^ Mrs. Roy C. Brooks, 1971 “S” Street is spending the week in Kansas City. * * * • Mrs. Lucy Miller and Niece Patricia of Nebraska City spent several days as guest of Mrs. Her man Tap. * * * * Mrs. John Miller left Thursday for St. Louis Mo. to visit her sis ter, Dr. XaCadine Hill. * • * • Mr. Clyde Coulter has returned to work after nine months recu perating from injuries caused as the result of a fall from a train. * * * * The 400 Club met last Wednes day evening with Mrs. Ruth Green as hostess. Next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Al bert Cooke with Mrs. Cooke as hostess. Mrs. Alberta Cooke was called to Chicago due to the death of her husbands sister, Susan Don ovant. * * * * Mrs. Sadie Berry who has been house guest of her niece, Mrs. Wm. B. Davis, has returned to her home in Merriam, Kansas. * * * * Mrs. Sue Harrison, sister of Mrs. Alberta Cooke is home after undergoing surgery at a local hospital. * * * * Mrs. John Johnson, 1310 “A” entertained with a dinner party Wednesday evening the following guests: Mrs. Eva Smith and Mrs. Sadie Berry. -o Haslngs News by Mrs. Ted Smith Two young ladies are among the high school graduates this week at Hastings. They are Mary Alice Lacy, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Lacy and Joyce Owens formerly of Kansas City. Miss Lacy is pianist for Hamil ton Chapel M. E. Church. Miss Thelma Kinchelow won: an award for her skill in art work! during the semester at Hastings College. Miss Kinchelow will leave at the close of school this week end for her home in Denver. She will be accompanied by her two brothers, Lloyd and Cannon who are also students at Hastings Col lege. Mrs. Etta Frazier underwent surgery at Mary Lanning hospi tal on Monday. Mrs. Jeanette Gates is ill at her home. Mr. Harry Smith is recuperat ing after several weeks illness. Mr. and Mrs S. V. Henderson recently moved to their farm home at Ayr, Nebraska. Cannon and Lloyd Kinchelow and Don and Lowell Smith mo tored to Lincoln Sunday. -o JOE W. ADAMS ADDED TO VOICE STAFF Mr. Joe W. Adams, World War II Veteran and recently moved with his family to the city is a new addition to The Voice Staff.
