DAILY MEDITATION Verse of the week: “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give the light." Eph. 5:14. Monday—Romans 11: 8 Tuesday—Jonah 1: 6 Wednesday—Romans 7: 18 Thursday—Romans 7: 19 Friday—Romans 7: 23 Saturday—Romans 7: 24 Mrs. J. Alton Greene St. Louis, Missouri Sunday School Lesson By Rev. R. E. Handy Subject—Feeding the Five Thou sand Scripture Text—John 6: 25-35 Memory Verse—“I am the bread of life.” John 6: 48. - The lesson down to date - In this lesson there is a striking difference between the thinking of Jesus and his disciples. That the people who came to hear the words of Jesus were hungry and far from home, they were agreed. The disciples approach their Lord and ask Him to send the people away, for there is not mon ey enough to buy bread for them all. Jesus asked them what was available. They answered “there is a lad here with five barley loaves and two fishes.” Then came the command: “Cause them to be seated in com panies.” Taking the food, He blessed it and brake it into pieces and had the disciples serve the people. Five thousand men be sides women and children ate their fill. Nothing must be wast ed so the pieces left were gather ed up. What brought about the increase? The Blessing. Did you ever sit down to scanty fare and wonder where the next meal was coming from? ‘Even with the little, did you bow your head and ask God’s blessing upon it? If not try it. God holds the wealth of the world in His hands. The cattle on a thousand hills are His. All the silver and gold, Pealls and diamonds are His to command. Praise Him, ask His blessings. He will increase your store as you show your gratitude. One of the greatest sins is in gratitude. He also will feed you with the bread of Heaven if you request it. God never lets one of the least of His children starve either physically or spiritually. His Son was hungry in the desert and He sent Angels to minister unto Him. “Beloved now are we the Sons of God.” Patronize Our Advertisers WALL PAPERS AND PAINTS For all purposes, and in all price ranges Formerly Columbia Glass & Paint Co, ^mknkoksui.A ^ nc,. • P1MI DBCORATIVB WALLPAPERS AND PAINTS •4tm and P St» • e. ♦. ♦ ♦ ♦ t ♦- •- »- •- ♦- > t. t. » _• ##• • *..
