Young People to
Enter College
Largest Number of Students Select
ing University of Nebraska
for Their Studies.
"With the conclusion of the summer
vacation period ending this week and
the observance of the Labor Day holi
day completed, Plattsmouth young
people, many of them this year's P.
II. S." graduates, are contemplating
cn entering and resuming their col
lege work. The largest percentage
of the students are entering the Uni
versity of Nebraska and a number are
to attend out-state colleges.
Janet Westover will enter Steph
ens' College at Columbia, Missouri.
Robert Hayes is to enter the Iowa
State college at Ames, Iowa. Joe
Case and Wayne Falk will resume
their study at Tarkio College at Tar
kio. Missouri. Miss Jane Boedeker
will enter the Cincinnati Conserva
tory School of Music In Ohio.
Students who will resume their
work at the University of Nebraska
and those planning on entering there

Two new enrolees in the Creigh-
ton University in Omaha will be
Stuart Sedlak and Warren Reed.
John Cloidt, Jr.. will enter Crelgh
ton for his sophomore year in Jour
nalism. Peru State Teachers' college will
also have two new Plattsmouth young
people John Jacobs and James San
din. MIs3 Edna Mae Petersen will
also enter college at Peru this fall.
John L. Tidball will study at
Doane College at Crete where he will
enter as a freshman.
FUNERAL OF M. L. RUBY
Funeral services for M. L. Ruby,
who passed away this morning at
11:30 will be held on Saturday at
3 p. m. at the Horton funeral home
here. The body will be . taken to
Arapahoe, Nebraska for interment.

The Plattsmouth Woman's club
save a reception last evening at the
home of Mrs. Robert B. Hayes for
members and guests. Mrs. Frank
Mullen, newly installed club presi
dent, gave the greeting.
Past President Mrs. Ellen Sund
nrom gave the devotionals.
Announcement of various commit
tees for the year was made.
The club voted 100 per cent to
cooperate with the American Legion
in their petition to the city council
in the repaving of Chicago avenue,
also the use of the Legion building
by the city. , .
A very delightful musicaj pro
gram was arranged and presented
by Mrs. E. II. Wescott.
Mrs. R. C. Shellenbarger gave two
vocal selections, they being "Still
as the Night" by Carl Bohm and
"The Lost Chord" by Arthur Sulli
van, her accompanist being Mis.
Lowell S. Devoe.
Mrs. J. A. Capwell gave two piano
selections: "Guitarre" by Moskowski
and "Military Polonaise" by Chopin.
David Fowler, Jr., high school
music Instructor was heard in two
violin selections: "Love's Greeting"
by Elgar and "Elegie" by Massenet.
Mrs. Fowler accompanied Mr. Fow
ler. At the conclusion of the meeting
dainty refreshments were served by
the hostesses the newly-elected of
ficers Mrs. Frank Mullen, Mrs. John
Wolff. Mrs. John Woest, and Mrs.
Frank Horsak.
