THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 1939. PAGE SIX PLATTSMOUTH SEMI . WEEKLY JOUBKAl Death of Well Known Weeping Water Lady Mrs. E. C. Fry, Well Known and Be loved Resident of Weeping Water Passes Away at Hospital. Weeping Water people were great ly shocked when word came that '.Mrs. R. C. Fry, 61, had passed away Sunday morning at Bryan Memorial hospital, in Lincoln. Apparently in good health until early Wednesday morning, she had attended the meet ing of the Eastern Star on Tuesday evening and seemed to be enjoying the evening and meeting the many visitors who were present during th.e nodal hour after the meetina:. About two o'clock on Wednesday morning she was taken ill. Every thing that was possible for humans to do was done but He, who is the giver and taker of life, took her to her eternal home. She had been taken to Bryan Memorial hospital at Lincoln, where she passed away at 10:20 a. in. Sunday, June 18, 1939 Rosa Minnie Klein was -jorn at Rockport, Missouri, November 15, 1878, and with her parents moved to Erownville, Nebraska, where they lived for a few years. before moving to Auburn, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood, and was mar ried to Ralph Crawford Fry July 6, 1901.. They made their home Auburn until April 1, 1912, when they moved to Weeping Water, where they have liyed continuously, since that time. Mrs. Fry was affiliated with the German Lutheran church at Auburn. She was quiet, unassum ing, and beloved by all who were privileged to know her. She was a charter member of Eliza beth chapter 250 Eastern Star at Weeping Water, a past matron and treasurer of the lodge for 16 years. She will be greatly missed in the lodge, and in the social clubs to which she belonged. The funeral was held this (Thurs day), morning, June 22. at Hobson's Mortuary. Rev. G. S. Hunt of the Congregational church conducting the services. Mrs. Henry Rughe sang two of the old and loved hymns. "In the Garden," and "Good Night and Good Morning," Mrs. Roy Has lam serving as the accompanist. Following the services the body was taken to her former home at Au burn, where a short service was held at 2 o'clock after which the body was laid to rest in the Sheridan cemetery at Auburn. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband. R. C. Fry; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Hobson, Auburn; Mrs. Frank Black,' Monrovia, California; Mrs. Bertha Furce, Portland, Ore gon; and a brother, Julius Klein of Auburn, Nebraska. Mrs. Bertha Furce. of Portland, and A. E. Fry of Burbank, Cali fornia were present at the funeral. ENJOYS PLEASANT OUTING SMALL FIRE AT COURT HOUSE From TuJy Dilr This noon another small fire oc curred at the court house and this time an awning on one the west win dows of the office of County Super intendent Lora Lloyd Kleck, was discovered to be on fire. The awning had apparently been caught afire from a cigarette which had apparently fallen or been tossed from the coun ty court room on the floor above. This time the blaze proceeded to do business and the entire awning was destroyed and some of the window frame damaged by the blaze. With the prompt work of Custodian Miles Allen and members of the fire de partment the awning was pulled out and the loss held to just the awning. DOG POISONERS ACTIVE HERE OVER WEEK END Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Derr of Mit chell, South Dakota, and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Ford and son, Harold, of Tipton, Iowa, are in Plattsmouth as guests of Mrs. Will Howland over the week-end. The three ladies are sisters and the visit has proven a I great joy to Mrs. Howland, who has not seen her sisters for some time. CONDITION STILL POOR Mrs. Anton Hayden, who has been suffering the effects of a stroke, is reported as doing as well as pos sible altho she is still feeling very much the effects of the attack. The Hayden family, who were formerly located near Mauley, have made their home here for the past two years. Miss Viola Haynie of Lincoln, for mer resident here, with her brother, Walter Haynie, of Shenandoah, Iowa, are enjoying a very pleasant visit in the east. They met at Red Oak, Iowa, from where they drove to Chicago and thence to Toronto, Can ada, enjoying many stops at places of interest in that section. They also are to visit at Niagara Falls, and from London, Canada, go to Montreal where they will spend a short time. They then go to New York City for a four day stay at the world's fair and then to Washing ton, D. .C, for a two day stay. On their westward return they are to 3top at Pekin, Illinois, to visit a sis ter, Miss Ethel Haynie and thence home. At Toronto they stopped at the Royal York hotel, the largest In Canada. I ueeii me pet ui uiary x nyiiia oucu nichsen. The little dog, a great pet and companion was evidently fed poison in its pen and died In a short time. RETURNS TO KANSAS CITY VISIT IN IOWA Mrs. W. L. Dwyer and her brother, Enoch Williams, of Cleveland. Ohio, have been spending the past few days at Spirit Lake, Iowa, where they visited friends there and at Lake Okoboji, two of the popular pleasure resorts of this part of the west. From Tuesday's Daily Raphael Janda and daughter, Ro laine, left this noon for their home in Kansas City, Missouri. The little. Miss had been here for the past six weeks visiting at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Janda as well as her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lillie.
