Mrs. Frank Horsak was called to

Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Johannes en
tertained at Nebraska City Sunday
evening, members of the staff of Joe's
New Way stores and the Mullen meat
market of this city. The event was
in the nature of a dinner party
served at the private dining room of
the Grand Hotel, the table being
very attractively decorated with lav
endar and pink sweet peas to lend a
touch of charm to the scene.
Following the dinner all took part
in a general discussion of present
day retailing from both the consum
er's and dealer's standpoint, which
was very interesting.
A. E. Deiter. the main speaker of
the evening, discussed the future of
the grocery business and predicted
a good business year in 1939.

Mrs. Frank Mullen, Walter Fornoff,
Wilma Wiles. Antonia Vanek. Jo
sephine Warga. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad
Pearson, Vincent Kelley and Mar
garet Ann Pitz, all of Plattsmouth:

GRANT POWER LINE RIGHTS
LINCOLN, Feb. 27 (UP) The
state railway commission today
granted authority to the Eastern Ne
braska Public Power district to build
lines in Richardson county with the
provision that they cannot parallel
the lines of the Ilumboldt-Spicer
Telephone company. The commission
also granted the application of the
Nebraska Power company to build
lines in Saunders, Washington, Cass
and Douglas counties.
