Prom Friday's Daily Thursday Evening Clab The Thursday Evening clUD mei last night with Mrs.,Guy Long. Circles Meet The Gleaners circle of the Meth odist Women's Federation met yes terday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Fred Howland. Mrs. Will Howland and Mrs. Faye Spidell were assistant hostesses. The regular business was discussed and plans made for a Christmas party. The circles are studying the romances of the Bible. Yesterday's romance was that of ' Esther" and was given by Mrs. Ralph Wiles. Delicious refreshments v.ere served by the hostesses. Mrs. D. M. "Babbitt entertained the Naomi circle yesterday. There were fourteen members and one visitor present. Mrs. J. C. Lowson gave a very Inspiring talk to the ladles. The regular business meeting was held and lesson on the life of Peter was given by Mrs. Rae McMaken. Several games were played. The hos tess, assisted by Mrs. Don Cramer and Mrs. Don Seivcr, served refreshments. From Saturday's Dally Honored on Anniversary Last evening Mr. and Mr3. Henry Stark john were given a very pleas ant surprise by a group of friends on the occasion of their ' thirtieth vedding anniversary. The party of friends arrived at the home as the family were pre paring for dinner and gave a real surprise, coming with covered dishes to provide a most toothsome anni versary dinner. The beautiful chrys anthemums of the fall season added to the attractiveness of the settings. This anniversary being that of pearl, the guests of honor were each given a gift of pearl as a reminder of the occasion. The remainder of the evening was spent in playing "Chink Check" and In which much pleasure was de rived. Those attending were County Treasurer and Mrs. John E. Turner and Dorothy Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Cloidt and Mrs. Lora Lloyd Kieck and children, Marilyn and Billy. Pinochle Club The Pinochle club met last night at the home of Marie Horn. Prizes were won by Helen Smetana first and Mary Holy, second. McConaha-Galan Miss Ethel Marie McConaha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl H. McConaha, and Claud Galyan, both of Nehawka, were married Wednes day afternoon in the county court room at Nebraska City by Judge T. S. Morton. The young man is a con struction worker. They will live at Nehawka." Delta Deck Club ' The Delta Deck Cud club met last night with Miss Mathilda Soennich-j sen.- The home was beautifully decor- ated with, chrysanthemums.
