Presbyterian Circles The circles of the church met tollows: Circle No. 1 was entertained at the home of Mrs. E. H. Bernhardt with Mrs. F. G. Nolting as assistant hostess. There was a fair attend s.nce of members at the meeting. A very interesting report of the Synod ical meeting at Hastings was given by Mrs. II. G. McClusky. Delicious refreshments were served. .Mrs. Waldemar Soennichsen enter- I taincd Circle 2 yesterday with Mrs. ; Rosencrans and Miss Florene Tritsch as associate hostesses. There Were 16 members present. Mrs. R. W. Knnrr gave a fine report of the Synodical meeting. The regular business meeting was held, with a discussion of the chicken pie supper held last week. Delightful refresh ments were served by the hostesses. j There were 18 members present !at the meeting of Circle 3 held at the home of Mrs. A. J. Trilety. Mrs. C. A. Marshall and Mrs. John Mei 1 singer were associate hostesses. Mrs. Stephen Wiles gave the devotiouals J after which Mrs. P. T. Heineman ;ave a talk on the Synodical meet j iug. A delicious lunch was served at the close of the meeting. Circle 4 met at the home of Mrs. ,r.ertha Shopp with Mrs. Earl Shan , holtz. Miss Margaret Hodgert and Mrs. Gallard assisting. There was an (Continued on Page 6) HOLD FUNERAL SERVICES From Thursday's Dally This morning at the Holy Se pulchre cemetery in tTie west part of the city committal services were held for William Manternack, 79, of Om aha, former Plattsmouth resident. The funeral services were held at 9 o'clock from the St. Anthony's church. Mr. Manternack died Tuesday at an Omaha hospital where he had been under treatment. He is survived by three daugh ters and one son, Mrs. Mary Kline, and Mrs. John Chase, of Omaha, Clara, of St. Paul, Minnesota and one son, William. A number of the old friends join ed the funeral party here for the last rites. SSI 'Mi WILL ENJOY VACATION From Thursday's Dally Miss Ruth Ann Patton, deputy county treasurer, will leave Friday on a short vacation, the first that she has been able to enjoy this year. Miss Patton .will visit at Chicago with her brother, Ward Patton and family and at Evanston, Illinois, with Miss Alice Louise Wes:ott. She will then go on to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she will be a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Julius for sev eral days. Pleasant, Iowa, where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Dickson. From there Miss Rosencrans goes to Chicago to visit her brother, B. U. Rosencrans and family. The others of the party are at Iowa City today to see the Nebraska-Iowa game. VISIT NEBRASKA CITY From Saturday's Daily A number of the members of the Plattsmouth Epworth League of the Methodist church went to Nebraska City last night where they attended the Booth Festival held at the Meth odist church there. Members of all Leagues of the district attended the festival. Louisville had the most pcints and won the banner for the year. A fine banquet and program was enjoyed by the group.
