Mrs. Bertha Wulf of Lincoln spent last Friday with her mother, Mrs. Pauline Ollerman. Lloyd Oberle of Lincoln visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Oberle last Saturday. Otto Simmons of Geneva visited hi3 cousin, L. V. Piersol and Mr3. Tiersol last Thursday. Ilarley Klietsch of Palmyra spent Sunday with hi3 mother, Mrs. Anna Klietsch and Jack Jones. Mrs. William Norris went to Lin coln last Friday and is visiting her sen, Hugh Xorris and family. Miss Dorothy Seeman of Palmyra is visiting this week with her sister, Mrs. Den Root, Mr. Root and Lloyd. Mrs. Fred Weyers and son of Wabash visited the latter part of last week with her mother, Mrs. Joe Rudolph. Mrs. Frank Clements of Imperial arrived the latter part of last week and is visiting with her mother, Mrs. S. E. Allen and other relatives here. Rev. and Mrs. Donald Springer drove to Omaha last Tuesday even ing and visited Mr. Springer's mother and sister, Mrs. Ella Spring er and Leona. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Wright, Mrs. Louisa Wachter and Mrs. Marie Hamilton motored to Weeping Wat er last Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hite. Mrs. Wesley Houston accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hughes to Plattsmouth last Sunday, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Hughes' daugh ter and husband. Mrs. R. C. Wenzel and Mrs. Clyde Wenzel entertained at a linen show er at the home of tne latter lor Miss Winifred Wenzel on Wednes day afternoon of last week. Mrs. J. L. Wall is spending this week at the Arthur .Thomson home near Palmyra. Mrs. Thomson and little son returned home last Sunday from the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln. Mrs. S. E. Allen, Mrs. Frank Clements, Mrs. It. B. Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. George Althouse and family spent Sunday in Lincoln at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Allen and family. Mrs. E. C. Oberle and Miss Geor gia bnoke went to blmwood on Tuesday evening of this week. They were on the committee to serve for the regular meeting of the Eastern Star lodge which was held that evening in Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lyon, of Lin coln, called at the L. W. Piersol home last Sunday afternoon. Mr and Mrs. Piersol returned to Lin coln with them and also accompan ied them to Geneva on Monday, where they spent the day with rela tives and friends. Spahnle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Spahnle of Eagle. The couple motored to Minnesota and attended the Nebraska-Minnesota game last Saturday. They will live in Lincoln. Friends here ex tend best wishes to them. Methodist Church Notes 10 a. m., Sunday school. 11 a. m., Morning worship. 7 p. m., Epworth League. The public is welcome to attend all the services. The choir will rehearse each Thursday evening. All who were present enjoyed the Rally Day service and basket din ner last Sunday. Death of Mrs. Wheatley Mrs. Margaret Augustine Wheat ley, age 70 years, passed away at her home in Palmyra, Nebraska, at C:00 p. m. Saturday, September 24, 1938. She was born at Daytonville, Iowa. May 17, 186 8. She had lived in the community of Palmyra since her marriage in 1SS4. She leaves to mourn her passing, a son, William Wheatley of Walton, Nebraska; two daughters, Lucy Wheatley of Palmyra, and Mrs. Clyde Ifutton, of Lincoln; three brothers. Lee and Charles Augustine of Cres bard. South Dakota, and John Aug ustine of Walton, Nebraska; two sis ters, Mrs. J. McEwan of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Delia McCart, of Lincoln; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was pre ceded in death by her husband. Grant, in 1931, and a son, John, in thee spring of this year. Funeral services were held at the home between Eagle and Palmyra. Tuesday. Sept. 27th. at 2:00 p. m., Rev. FORMER PLATTSMOUTH GIRL WEDS SATURDAY AT OMAHA TO RETURN HERT TO LIVE frrnn Monday's Dally Mrs. Mattie "Williams, who has for the past twenty years been mak ing her home in Omaha, was here today to look after her property in terests on Wintersteen Hill. Mrs. Williams is planning on. re turning here and making her home among the old residents with whom she Is so well acquainted. The marriage of Miss Ruth Ade line Smith, daughter of Mrs. William D. Smith, of Omaha, and Dr. Gervr.se T. Reinert, son of Mrs. Catherine Reinert. of Sequin, Kansas, took place Saturday in Omaha. . The wedding was celebrated in the chapel of "Our Lady" at the St. Cecelia cathedral, the nuptial mass being celebrated by the Rev. E. J. Hunkeler, pastor of the church. Dr. and Mrs. Reinert will make their home at Lebanon, Kansas, where Dr. Reinert has a very suc cessful practice, they locating there at once after a short honeymoon. The bride is a former Plattsmouth girl, making her .home here in her early girlhood and who has a large circle of friends among, the old time school associates who will join in their well wishes to the many ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Siemoneit and Dorothea attended funeral services at Omaha for Otto Norri3, 4 8, Chicago, president of East Side Trust and Savings bank and owner of the Chrysler and Plymouth Auto Sales on East side. Mr. Norris and a companion were killed when, according to witnpsses, Mr. Norris drove around the end of a passing freight and was struck by the New Yorker, one of the road's crack fliers. The car was hurled 350 feet across the state line into In diana. Both were instantly killed. Surviving, besides the widow, arc a son fiecrge, age 10, and a daugh ter, Sharon Lee, 7, of Chicago, also two sisters in Germany. Mrs. Norris is a former Omahan, the daughter oi Mrs. George Noreisch, and a sis ter of Mrs. Fritz Siemoneit, living near Plattsmouth. Funeral services were held both at Chicago and Omaha, with interment in Forest Lawn cemetery. Others attending the f'ineral from this vicinity were Mrs. Fret! W. Nolting, Mr. and Mrs. William 1 Halmes and family, Mrs. Leonard' Stoehr and Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. j Meisinger.
