Contrary to the rumor that the Weeping Water jail had been de stroyed and completely torn up is entirely misleading, for the bastile stands as mute protestation to the rumor. The building was slightly disfigured and did not look the very best after the prisoner, who was locked up there, but not in the strong box, after having sobered up to some extent began wreaking his vengeance on mortar and stone, iron liars and glas windows, while it is reported he was watched by a large crowd of people to see what he would do. After wrecking the windows he squirmed through the barred win dows and dropped to the ground and came down town for a bite to eat, as he did not like the jail menu. Think ing of the strong arm of the law, it is again reported that he turned his nose toward Idaho and followed it toward the setting sun. Anyway the strong house is empty and the bird flown.
