PIATTSMOUTH SEMI - WEEKLY JOURNAL PAGE FIVE M urray Shrader Rhoden, democratic can didate for sheriff was at Nehawka and Union last Tuesday. Kay Creamer was threshing Mon day of this week which completes most of the threshing in this neigh liorhood. Mrs. Adam Cook was a visitor with relatives and friends from their home in the western part of the state and was guest of Elmer Philpot and family, Mrs. Cook being sister of Mr. Philpot. Mrs. Cook also visited in Weeping Water and Plattsmouth with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Crisney, were in Platttsmouth last Saturday where they were visiting friends and look ing after some trading. Earl Merritt and Wayne Lewis have just completed painting two houses for Jacob Hild and also paint ed a barn for M. R. llackman. Clarence Busche of Louisville, can didate on the republican ticket for county clerk, was a visitor in Mur ray the latter part of last week. Wallace Philpot and borther, B. L. Philpot was attending to business matters in the county seat for the day last Thursday. Hallas Akins and Elmer Philpot were called to Plattsmouth last Thursday where they were looking after some business matters for the day. W. S. Smith who has been feeling so poorly for some time is just at this time reported as feeling better, which is good news to his many friends. Mrs. Emma Marquardt Rawalt, was in Murray and Plattsmouth and also in the Rock Bluffs vicinity in terviewing the voters. She is a can didate for county superintendent. July 20th. at 8 o"ilock at Lewis ton Community Center, a program and ice cream social, cake and lem onade. Come and meet the candi dates, they will be there. His friends hope he will be out in a few days. The Tiekotter brothers of Platts mouth have been making some im portant changes in the home at the Parr Young farm, which is adding much to the convenience of the home. Richard and Robert Cisney were guests for a number of days in Lin coln where they were visiting with their sister, Mrs. Thomas Watson and (husband, who are entertainers on KFAB. Mrs. Grace Chambers of Denver was spending the past week at I the home of her brother, Roy Gregg (and family, her mother. Grandmother 'Gregg, and with another brother, Harvey Gregg. James Earhardt who has been re siding south of Murray on a prop erty of Mr. Reynolds estate recently moved to the Meek Davis place 'west of Murray on what is known as the Fulton Blacksmith property. Miss Lovina Troop was visiting for a number of days the past week with friends in Weeping Water. A letter from her grandfather. J. J. Lohnes who resides in the western portion of the state tells of a very severe hail storm which killed and destroy ed the crops in that section complete ly. HAS HAND INJURED From Tuesday's Daily Donald Balliter, who resides on a farm near this city, suffered the in jury of his right hand this morning, having it torn by a hay fork. The injury was such that medical atten tion was found necessary. The in jured hand was dressed by Dr. Wil bur Eaton and the young man re turned to his home.
