Edward Brubacher and wife of Plattsmouth, parents of G. E. Bru bacher, were guests for the day last Sunday at the homo of their sort. On last Sunday Chester Shrader and wife of South Omaha were guests for the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Nickles. Mrs. D. C. Rhoden was a visitor for the day last Saturday at Platts mouth where she was guest for the afternoon at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Wm. G order. Lawrence Smith who has been oc cupying one of the residence proper ties of the Latta estate during the early part of the week moved into another one as it was more desirable. C. 1. Spangler and Mrs. Margaret Todd, his daughter, were in Weep ing Hater last Wednesday night meet ing with the other postmasters and employees of the postal service in Cass county. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Cisney were over to Clay Center, spending the week-end at the home of their daugh ter, Mrs. Bud Peck and husband, who are appearing as entertainers over radio station KMMJ. The home of Mr. and Mrs. George Randall Switzer was made happy on last Sunday when it was visited by the stork who left a very fine eight and a half pound daughter. Dr. 11. W. Tyson was there and welcomed the little lady into the world. Attorney D. O. Dwyer of Platts mouth while on his way to Lincoln to look after some business, stopped in Murray and visited with George E. Nickles, as well as looking after some business matters while in town. Sowing Much Barley . Ray Fix derick of Nebraska City the setd dealer, was in Murray last Monday morning looking after some business matters and meeting his i friends litre. Mr. Frederick is seed-J ing some 250 acres if barley for; seed for the coming season. He hasj just returned lrom the western part , of the state and reports tlu.t there is. more moiture than for the past seven years, and prospects are bright. Much Interest in Revival. The revival being conducted at the Christian ehuich in Murray is at tracting much favorable comment and is being well attended. On last Thursday evening some forty of the members of the Christian church at Plattsmouth were down and enjoyed the service. Again this week there is expected to be a large number from the Plattsmouth church in at tendance and to assist in the ser vice. Visiting in Murray. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ho bart Blake on last Sunday was gath ered a number of relatives and friends to help properly celebrate the passing of the Sunday. Those present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hyatt of Elmwood, Mrs. Pauline Russell of Weeping Water and Mrs. Herman Lcmpke which made a good crowd who sure enjoyed the get together meeting. Visited Here Last Saturday. Hon. W. B. Banning and wife of Lincoln, while on their way to Union for the week end stopped in Murray last Saturday to look after some business matters and to visit with their friends, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Nickles. To Make Home in Louisville. Teddy Baker who has been making his home in Murray for the past few years, moved to Louisville last week and will make their home there. Will Grow Peas and Spinach. Fred Beverage, living west of Mur ray several miles was in town last Monday morning looking after some business and later continued to Plattsmouth where he went to get his supply of peas and spinach for seed as he is expecting to grow a portion of both for the Norfolk Packing com pany. His former experience in this line has been very good and he is de sirous of engaging in the cultivation of ljolh vegetables, for this year as he looks for good crops in all farrf products. Hold Business Meeting. The Young People of the Presby terian church of Murray, which is one, of the very active auxiliaries of the church, met in a business session at the home of their president, John Faris, where some twenty members of the organization got together to look after the business which was to come before them. A delightful luncheon was served at the conclu sion of the meeting. Exchanged their Pulpits. Rev. Hubbell who is the pastor of the Christian church at Auburn, but who has been here for some time to assist in the series of religious ser vices at the Christian church here, remained here and delivered the ser mons Sunday, and Rev. Shubert went down to Auburn to lill the pulpit there, thus both churches being sup plied w ith a minister. Charles Ferguson Badly Injured. While Charles Ferguson of south of Union was working in the timber he was struck by a falling limb of a tree which rendered him unconscious and he was hurried to the St. Mary's hospital at Nebraska City where he is being cared for. His condition is considered as being very serious, he not being entirely conscious when Martin Sporer visited him Sunday. April Fool Circus. The members cf the "Murray Re view" held an "April Fool Circus" at the lionise of Josephine and Eugene Stastka last Thursday evening. In presenting their act the tight rope walkers showed great skill. This was followed by a piano solo by one of the guests. The 'animals, consisting of bears, deer, ground hogs and mon keys, showed great originality and were of great interest to the guests. Those present to enjoy the circus were. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Spangler and children, Charles and Charlene, Mrs. Margaret Todd and son Dick, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Brubacher and daughter, Beverely, Mr. aud Mrs. C. I). Spangler, Mr. Greer, Dr. and Mrs. Tyson and daughter, Ann Marilyn, Dr. and Mrs. G. H. Gilmore, Mrs. R. C. Kennedy and daughter, Betty Lou, Bobby and Dale Wohlfarth, Marie and Loa Davis and Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Stastka and children, Josephine, and Eugene. SHOWS SOME IMPROVEMENT Henry Donat, who suffered the in jury of his right kneecap some time ago, is still confined to his home, altho he is able to be around the house with the aid of a cane. While a student in the high school he had the knee cap injured in football prac tice in the fall of 1931 and has suf fered more or less from the injury since. He had the knee cap knocked out again while working around the Donat tavern. RETURNS FROM HOSPITAL Mrs. E. J. Ferrie, who has been at the St. Mary's hospital at Nebraska City, recovering from a minor oper ation, was brought home Sunday to this city. She is doing very nicely but will be forced to spend several weeks in recuperation. She is at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. Carl Chriswisser for the present and the 'many friends are pleased to learn that she is home and doing so well. (My Commission expires A us. 24, 1939) SOCIAL CIRCLE CLUB The Social Circle club held its March meeting at the home of Mrs. Will Cook and Mrs. Louis Burbee and Mrs. Bruce Wolfe assisting. It was one of the most interesting and pleasant meetings of the season with most of the members being present and with eleven visitors. A wonderful dinner was served at the noon hour for the members and which was much appreciated. Mr. Lee Earis offered the grace. Following the dinner the regular business meeting was called to order by the president, the members re peating the Lord's prayer at the open ing of the meeting. Various topics were discussed by the members. Mrs. Roy Becker was awarded a very handsome quilt. The leaders took charge of tle meeting and in their interesting man ner gave the lesson of the day, that on one dish, meals, demonstrating very cleverely two of the one dish meals which tasted very good indeed. The next meeting will be April Sth at the Community center, it being the achievement party, so everyone bo sure and come as it will also be the election of officers. The Social Circle club received an invitation to the Union Woman's club meeting at the Baptist church. Some twelve of the members were in at tendance and enjoyed very much the program. Several very prominent club workers were present, each giv ing short talks and many other in teresting things were on the pro gram. VISIT BEAUTY SPOT Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dooley and chil dren, Wilma Jeanne, Ruth Ann and Dean Marson, with Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Sites, have just returned from a pleas ant visit in Miami and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. One of the features of the trip that will long be very pleasantly remem bered was the visit to the Frank Phillips ranch, "Woolaroc," located in the Osage hills of Oklahoma. ( Mr. Phillips, the head of the Phil lips Oil Co., one of the largest in the Oklahoma oil field, has spared no expense in making his ranch one of the finest in the southwest and it is stocked with all varieties of game which has been collected from many parts of the world and now roam the spactious acres of the ranch in safety. The house at the ranch is in keeping with the greatness of the place and the large halls and living room are decorated with the heads of the game animals. RETURNS FROM CHICAGO Mrs. Theodore Yelick has returned home from Chicago where she visited for the past several weeks at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ptacek. Mrs. Yelick lived in Chicago before her marriage. EAGLE NEWS ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Nash of Pal myra visited relatives in Eagle last Friday. Mrs. William Tinker is teaching several days this week for Miss Edith Robertson. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Oberle spent last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oberle and sons. Mr. and Mrs. George Trimble and Merna Stradley spent Sunday after noon visiting relatives in Palmyra. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Muenchau and sons called at the Dan Muencau home near Waverly last Wednesday eve ning. Mrs. Anna Earl is visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Hoffmeister and Daraleen in Weeping Water this week. Mrs. Elmer Judkina entertained the ladies of the Trinity Lutheran Aid society at her home last Thurs day afternoon. Carl Rodav.ay returned to Cali fornia the first of this week and was accompanied by Donald Hursh and Clarence Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. John Reitter and son and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hursh of Lincoln were guest3 last Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Hursh. Rev. W. B. Zimmerman, pastor of the Methodist church at St. Paul, Nebr., is holding evening services at the Eagle Methodist church this week and next week. On Tuesday afternoon of this week a miscellaneous shower was given at the home of Mrs. Turley Wall for Miss Ellen Bickert, who will wed Lester Donlan in April. Mrs. Etta Trunkenbolz, who has spent the past several months with her daughter, Mrs. Dewey Headley in Green wood, is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Frohlich. She plans to move back to Eagle in the near future. The Eagle musical students parti cipated in the music contest held in Omaha last week end. As a group they tied with Unadilla for third place in Class D. each earning 19 points. Mr. N. A. Glaum has had charge of the music in the Eagle schools this year. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wall were ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomson and son of Falmyra on a motor trip to Arapahoe where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Wall from Wednesday until Fri day. While there they enjoyed at tending a musical program directed by Harvey, which included the mu sical numbers his students were to give at the Iloldrege contest Friday and Saturday. Birthday Party. Mr. and Mrs. Will Ossenkop of Walton, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Oberle and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Adams gath ered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Hursh last Sunday evening. The wathering was planned in cele bration of Mr. Ilursh's birthday of April 3rd. The evening was pleasantly spent and all enjoyed the refreshments be fore the departure of the guests. Surprise Birthday Gathering. Honoring Mrs. Lydia Muenchau of Elmwood whose birthday anniversary occurred, April 1st, her children and their families gathered at her home last Sunday afternoon. The after noon was spent socially and refresh ments were served before the group dispersed. Those present beside the honored guest and her daughter. Miss Lillie Muenchau were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Muenchau and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muenchau and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Muenchau, all of Eagle, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Muenchau, Edward and Gra.ce of Alvo. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Muenchau and family of Waver ly and Miss Buck of Murdock. Eagle Resident Passes Away. Orville Robertson passed away at C:45 Sunday morning at his home. He had suffered with a heart ail ment for more than a year. Last Wednesday morning his condition be came very serious and continued to be bo until he passed away. Mr. Robertson was well known in this community and also in the Elm wood community where he resided for many years. Services were held Wednesday at the home in Eagle at one o'clock and also at Elmwood. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery. Local Election. At the local election on Tuesday of this week, J. L. Wall, Harry Rob ertson and Bert Lytle received the greatest number of votes and will serve on the village board. Wall and Robertson were re-elected. Otto Weyers and Rudolph Wulf were re-elected and will each serve a term of three years on the board of education. JUDGE WILSON HERE From Tuesday's Daily Judge W. W. Wilson, newly ap pointed judge of the second judicial district, was here today to hold his first session of court since receiving his commission. While here Judge Wilson had the call of the docket for the April term of the district court and the assign ment of the cases for trial. Judge Wilson has announced the re-".ppointment of Glen Woodbury as the district court reporter and he will continue on his work. With the change in the judgeship Mr. Wood bury and family will move back to Nebraska City. GUARDIAN'S SALE Pursuant tq license issued to me out of the District Court of Cass County.
