While a half dozen of Cass coun ty's seventeen towns can lay claim to being the only postoffice in the United States with their respective names, on the other hand there are nearly 100 other towns in the union with names identical with names of other Cass county towns. Plattsmouth, Alvo, Manley, My nard, Nehawka and Weeping Water are the six towns who alone can claim individuality of name. The claim of Manley is somewhat ob scured by the fact that there are Manly's in Iowa and North Carolina. Uncle -Sam's postal guide, which cur nishes this information, is also au thority for the fact that there are nine Cass counties in the U. S. Other states having a Cass county are Illi nois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Min nesota, Missouri, North Dakota and Texas. The town of Union has to share the name with towns in 19 other states; Greenwood being runnerup, having namesakes in 17 other states. Cedar Creek has a twin in Texas, it's only competitor for the name, al though there is a Cedarcreek, Mis souri.
