Phillip Markland was looking af ter some business at Murray and Plattsmouth and Omaha on last Mon day. Mr. and Mrs. V. II. Homan were visiting and looking after some busi ness matters in Plattsmouth Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Shields were in Omaha last Sunday enjoying a visit and dinner with their son. Cloyd Keese and son. 11. Gelding of Plattsmouth, was a visitor in Weeping Water Tuesday of this week, looking after some busi ness matters for a short time. Miss Hetty Woleott is the possessor of a new auto, getting the same from the Cole Motor company and is well pleased with the new acquisition. Mrs. V. II. Gorder was a visitor in Murdn.k the srreater portion of last week, visiting at the her brother, A. J. Tool and family. Mc and Mrs. Hoss Shopshire were over to Plattsmouth Monday of this week where they were looking after some business matters for a short time. j J. A. Eaton of Union was a visi-l tor in Weeping Water, have some troublesome teeth extract ed. He has" been having trouble with them for some time. Mrs. Thomas Murray was visiting for the day last Sunday at the home of her friend, Mrs. M. N. Henderson where the ladies enjoyed a very fine visit and a good time. I. L. Markland, the dairyman, has been sick for the past more than a week and has been having Lloyd Lar son assisting with the work at the dairy and milk route. Harry Williams of Elmwood, was a visitor in Weeping Water last Tues day where he was looking after some business matters at the Cole Motor company, for which he is a salesman. returning to his work at Lincoln on Monday. Will Patterson of Murray was vist ing the greater part of the week with his brother, Judge A. J. Tatterson, coming over from his home last Sat urday evening and remaining during this week. Art Johnson, who is a teacher of music, was down to Avoca where he went to give music lessons to Leo Mc Cann. a friend of Mr. Johnson. He was accompanied by Melvin Newell on the trip. Keith Ault of Lincoln, who is dis trict representative of a Lincoln in surance company was looking alter some business matters in Weeping Water on last Tuesday, installing an agency here. Stuart Rough of Xehawka came over to Weeping Water last Sunday morning and took his sister, .Miss Agnes aiid Miss Mable Dudley to; Lincoln where they visited with a of Murray, but found no one home. They stayed for an hour as they were desirous of getting a good dinner, but as no one came they returned to Weeping Water about noon and got their own dinner. Mrs. John Bolz, who has her beauty parlor in Weeping Water and has a largo number of clients from Elm- wood, was prevailed upon to devote one day to that portion of her clientele which comes from Elmwood and so she had aranged to go to Elm wood on Tuesday each week and was there this week on Tuesday and will continue this practice indefinitely. Carpenters and other workmen are at this time remodeling the store room of Troy L. Davis, where the Farmers cream station has been, as Mr. W. D. Baker has moved to the room across the street and Mr. C. J Schwere is to occupy the room va cated by Mr. Baker, which is being placed in excellent condition. Schafer who is building a new house where the one burned down last winter. Under the new program for the city of Weeping Water as put over by the new city government was the appointment of Leonard Doty as wa ter commissioner and manager of the pumping station. This place was for merly occupied by Frank E. Woods. Howard Dodd who is janitor of the postoiffce building in Plattsmouth with the family were visiting friends in Weeping Water Monday of this week and called on Lawrence Askew. They were formerly co-workers for the Burlington in their shops in the larger pieces of farm machinery may be taken in and out of the show room. Entertains Number of Friends. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C. Hinds were hosts last Sunday, where they enter tained an even dozen of their friends at a. chicken dinner. Everyone en joyed the occasion to the fullest. Ralph Dinger, who is employed in j Plattsmouth the truck terminal as manager of the shipping was a visitor at the home of his parents for over the week end. Peter H. Miller and son, Pete, were over to Murray and at the home of James H. Miller and family southeast Mrs. Mary Frizzel Dies. Mrs. W. H. Frizzel. past 82 years of age, passed away at their home in Weeping Water last Friday after having been confined to her bed for the past nearly four years with a broken hip which she sustained in a fall. Miss Mary Rowe was born at Sid ney, Iowa, some a 2 years ago last March and has lived in this portion of the county during the greater part of her life. She was united in mar riags to W. H. Frizzel on July 23, 1S71, at Florence, Kansas. They were blessed with eight children, all of whom have passed away with the ex ception of one son, John, of Weeping Water and another Clarence of Cali fornia. Funeral services were held from the Hobson funeral home and were conducted by the Rev. Percival, pas tor of the Menonite church and inter ment made at Oakwood cemetery. During her girlhood Mrs. Frizzel united with the Christian church and was a devoted member during the greater portion of her life. However she later became a communicant of the Menonite church in which faitn she passed way. Karly in the Civil war Mr. Frizzel volunteered as a eoldier of the Union army and served with distinction through the entire war. He will be 94 years of age on August 19th and is the only member of the G. A. It. now living in Cass county. Lloyd Colbert, Ray Doty, were over to Plattsmouth looking after some business for the day last Friday, driving over in the car of Hubert Cappen. SURPRISED ON ANNIVERSARY very iisJ Cn April 27, about seventy-five neigiiDors ana mends came witn wen filled baskets and surprised Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boedeker on their twentieth wedding anniversary. The main event of the evening was a mock wedding which caused much merriment. The bridal party consisted of John Rieke as bride; Mrs. Raymond May- field, Jr., bridegroom; Mrs. Deforest Philpot. best man; Mrs. Albert Shel horn, bridesmaid; Wallace Philpot and Mrs. John Reike, bride's parents; Mr. Ray Mayfield, flower girl; Bobbie Mayf.eld, ring bearer; Cyrus Living ston as minister officiating in His usual pleasant manner. The beautiful wedding march (chop sticks) was played by Osa Ma rie Boedeker and Wilma Livingston. Preceding the ceremony. Miss Esther Tritsch sang very sweetly the prisoners" song. The blushing bride looked charming in her lace curtain gown and accessories to match. The brides maid wore a dress of pastel shades and picture hat to match. The flow er girl wearing a popular SKin-tee dress and the ring bearer with his beautiful long brown curls carried the ring on a duck feather pillow. The groom and best man were very handsome in their suits. The minister and the father "wore ever popular swallow tail coats-. The mother wore a "o lack evening gown and picture hat to match. ' Deforest Philpot: with the violin and Mrs. Laura Tritsch at the piano entertained with several musical numbers. The remainder of the evening was spent in an all around god time. Af ter the dainty lunch, the guests de parted wishing Mr. and Mrs. Boe deker many more- happy anniver saries.
