ville Courier. Mr. Palmer is well
known in this section as he is a
native son of Louisville and still
makes his home there a part of the
time. He is now a candidate at the
republican primary for the nomin
ation for United States senator and
should make a strong race for the of
fice. He was a
justice in 1930 and was one of the
two high men at the primary elec
tion. The many friends in Cass county
will no doubt give Harry a fine vote
at the primary election on April 14th.
INJURIES FATAL TO MAN
Omaha. Charles Rohwer, 5S,
farmer west of Omaha, died in a hos
pital of injuries suffered Thursday
when his automobile and a truck col
lided on the Dodge st. road. Rohwer's
daughter, Lorraine, also injured in
the accident, was reported improved.
The county attorney's office said, a
charge of causing death while exceed
ing the speed limit would be filed
against Buster Fox of Oakland,
driver of the truck. Fox was not in
jured. He was booked by police on
a charge of reckless driving, and
later released on bond.

since the bank closed Feb. 1, 1923.

making his home with his daughter,
Mrs. M. L. Golliher at Grand Island
for the winter, came to Lincoln last
Monday and was met there by his
son, W. W. Coatman, who brought
him here and as well took him to
Weeping Water, where lie visited for
a short time and looked after some
work as well.

Enjoyed Fine Evening.
The Elmwood fire department,
which contains a very fine set of men
and who pride themselves in being
Cre fighters for the protection of the
home3 and business interests of the
town, were assembled last Tuesday
evening at the community hall where
they were enjoying their annual ban
quet which was served by Herman
Fenterman, consisting of weiner sand
wiches and coffee, with the evening
repast completed with ice cream and
cake. A very fine program was also
had which was of great interest.

Elmwood sold a car load and an
extra one, making seven, John Deere
tractors, they going to the farmers!
for the cultivation of crops. Murray
sold some fourteen of power plant3!
while Nehawka sold about the same
number, while C. J. Schwere of Weep-
ing Water sold thirty and Alvo comes
in with a sale of sixty-seven since
jthe first of the year. Just the other
