From Thursday's Daily Nebraska's first lady, Mrs. Roy Cochran, represented the women of r 1 m J imm ii in ! " ' president of the Woodmen Circle." Omaha civic and business leaders, national directors of the Woodmen Circle, and members of the women's division of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce were among the 250 guests who attended the luncheon. Motoring to Omaha from Lincoln, Mrs. Cochran was an honor guest at the luncheon. She told briefly Ne braska's pride at having headquar ters for the Woodmen Circle, a fra ternal insurance society for women and children operating in 42 states, in this state. "rMs. Talley is an illustrious ex ample of what women can accomplish in this world," Mrs. Cochran said. Mayor Roy Towl of Omaha and Al vin E. Johnson, president of the Om aha Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Mrs. Talley back to Omaha after her recent tour of the country during which she attended state conventions and the national convention of the Woodmen Circle. Mrs. Talley recently won national recognition through her selection as a member of the executive committee and president of the presidents sec tion of the National Fraternal Con gress held in Pittsburgh last August. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Geo. Kaffenberger. After the business meeting, the meet ing was turned over to the project leaders, Mrs. Donald Born and Mrs. Verna Meisinger. This lesson was on the "Vitamins in Vegetables. Two dishes were prepared by the leaders, cabbage and a spinach custard and each member was given a sample, which proved to be very delicious. There were thirteen members present and the club also had three visitors, Mrs. John S. Toman, Mrs. Richard Livingston, Mrs. J. P. Meisinger. At the close of the meeting a de licious lunch was served by the host esses. Everyone enjoyed the lesson very much. The next meeting will be held No vember 5th at the home of Mrs. John Micln, with Mrs. Edgar Meisinger and Mrs. John Kaffenberger as asso ciate hostesses. CLUB REPORTER. P lone the news to no. O. Fifty years ago the structure was one of the city's most popular hotels, but for many years it has served as a rooming house. After more than half a cen tury of service, it has become too old for further use. Erected either In the late COs or the early 70s, it soon became a pop ular Bohemian hotel, when many peo ple of Bohemian descent were pass ing thru Fremont en route from their native land to settle in the new west.
