He says there is a passageway about 150 miles long in this great cave, a goodly portion of which distance could be negotiat ed by boat, as there is an under ground stream running through the cave. Stuart walked back into the cave a distance of some three miles, going through a passageway that was about 25 feet in width and nearly 100 feet in height. The interior is lighted by electricity. Paraphernialia Has History The paraphernalia which is now being used by the roque club, is the same which was used by the club when it was playing years ago. When some of the players went west that summer they took the balls, mallet3 and arches with them to the Masonic park, high up in the mountains, es tablishing a court there and playing some very spirited games. On their return they left the outfit and it has ECONOMICAL GUARANTEE OULTRY REMEDIES A liquid preparation containing ingredients used in cleaning the intestinal tract and bowel region of all impurities, including PUT, HOUND and TAPE WORMS. When they took it west, this was one of the most popular of games for young and old alike, the pleasures of motoring were few in deed, and bicycles were the principal mode of conveyance other than via horse and buggy or train. There were no paved highways and really "good" roads were mighty scarce. Now, after reposing in its dust laden box all these years, the set was resurrected and has been 6hipped back here, where the mallets, balls and arches present a unique appearance on the lawns. The outfit was there thirty years, or since the year 1905, and what an advancement these thir ty years have made in the ordinary every-day life of people who are now surrounded by conveniences that were not even thought of in those days. Will Farm Coming Summer Clifford Mitchell, who has been working here on the river project, re ceived news of the passing of his father at the home in Missouri and was called to attend the funeral. The passing of the father leaves the farm without arr occupant except the moth er, and Clifford will go down and farm for the mother the coming summer. Pleased Over Selection Members of the 1935 Senior class of the Nehawka high school are well pleased over the selection of Miss Lois Troop of this vicinity as queen of the King Korn Karnival at Plattsmouth, a3 Miss Lois was one of their num ber. She has a large number of close friends here who were boosting for her to win and doing all in their power to help her do so. She is at the present time attending the Uni versity of Nebraska at Lincoln, but found time to attend the coronation at Plattsmouth, where she became queen and Harrison L. Gayer king of kornland for the coming year. Daughters of Revolution Meet i There was a very interesting gath ering of the members of the Daugh ters of the American Revolution at the Nehawka auditorium last Friday, which included representatives from Avoca and Weeping Water. Prove Themselves Adept Players The Nehawka Roque club, which existed many years ago when this lawn game was popular, has been re vived and a group of the young folks (as well as older ones) . have: been pushing the balls around 'with all the zest modern day golfers exhibit in their various shots to attain par. A team composed of James Palmer, Herbie Kuntz, Mark Burton and Glen Rutledge went to Nebraska City last Friday, where they showed the play ers of that place what some had con sidered the lost art of placing the balls where they desired and won the series of games, which pleased the Nehawka lads very much. On Sunday, they went to McPaul, Iowa, where they also took a series of games with signal honors. The people here who play are greatly interested in the game. New Pastor Here The congregation of the Methodist church at their worship hour last Sunday were greeted by their new pastor. Rev. G. M.
