This morning a group of Platts mouth ladies, members of the Degree of Honor, departed for Nebraska City where they will attend the district convention cf the order. Those at tending from here weie Mrs. Henry Ofe, Sr., Mrs. August lloessler, Mrs. Fred Haffke, Mrs. Hermie Svoboda and Mrs. James Bulin. NOW DOING NICELY Margaret Ann Pitz, daughter of County Commissioner and Mrs. J. A. Pitz, who was operated on for appen dicitis at the Immanuel hospital at Omaha, is reported as doing very nicely at this time. The patient is doing just as well as possible and her condition i3 very pleasing to the parents and friends. RECEIVES SAD NEWS Mrs. D. C. Morgan of this city has received the announcement of the death cf Mrs. Cora Larimore, sister of Clarence Atkinson, former resi dent of this city, who is now located at San Dieso, California. Mrs. Lari more died as the result of a heart attack at her home. Funeral services were at Redonde Beach, California. Death of W. R. Bryan Occurs at Ft Collins, Colo. long Time Resident of South Bend Community and Former County Assessor, Passes Away. William R. Bryan, 89, a resident for many years of the vicinity of South Bend and Ashland and a for mer county assessor of Cass county, died Saturday at Fort Collins, Colo rado,, where in recent years he' has made his home. The death of Mr. Bryan will bring a sincere regret to many old friends over Cass county who had known this kindly gentleman in his long lifetime here. A man cf strong re ligious belief he was active for his lifetime in the Christian . church in this community and his old home and was a devout and earnest be liever in hi3 faith and carried this into his intercourse with his fellow man. . During the time of his term as county assessor and for seme years following Mr. Bryan and family made their heme in a residence prop erty on high school hill until their removal to the west where their daughter, Mrs. Tom Miller, resided at Denver. . There is surviving the ager widow and the daughter, Mrs -Miller, two other daughters preceding him In death. The body was brought to Ash land where funeral services ; were held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church there and inter ment made in the cemetery there. HOME DAIRY WINS The Home Dairy kittenball team Sunday Journeyed down to Mynard for an exhibition game with the My nard Muleskinners and secured a 7 to 2 win over the boys from our neighboring community. The game was well played by both teams and the hurlers, Charles Miller for the Dairy and Vallery for the Mynard team, performed well. It had been planned to stage a double header but the rain had other plans and the second game was called as the heavy rain came to bring a Srtop to the sport. The mother and daughter are doing nicely and it is needless to say that the proud and happy father is feeling very much delighted over the little lady that has arrived to join the family circle. We desire to take this meons of expressing to the many friends our most heartfelt appreciation of the many acts of kindness shown us in our bereavement.
