The Rotary club at their meeting
on Tuesday afternoon was under the
leadership of E. A. Wuil of the busi
ness relations section of the club.
The discussion of the business
ethics was enjoyed by all of the mem
bers of the club in an informal man
ner and brought out some very fine
ideas.
The club had present as their
guests Roy Kingsley, of Omaha, past
president of the Omaha club, Charles
Stcinbauyh, also of Omaha, and Wil
liam N. Band of Salida, Colorado.

FORMER RESIDENT GRANTED
DIVORCE AT DES MOINES, IA.
Dispatches today verify a report
that a divorce decree was granted to
Frances C. Slarkey against Glenn O
Starkey in the district court, l'olk
county, Dts Moines, Iowa.
The divorce waa granted to Mrs
Starkey on the grounds cf cruelty
and t:gntd by the Honorable O. S.
Franklin, judge, on December 21st,

of the minor child, Austin, to Mrs

VISITS IN THE CITY
II. II. Ragoss, one of tii ecandl
dates for the democratic nomination
for county commissioner in the sec
ond district, was An the city Tues
day from hi3 home near Louisville.
Mr. Ragoss Is busy the last few days
in getting out over the district and
visiting with his friends. Mr. Ragoss
has been a farmer in the Louisville
community for a great many years
and active in many of the .farm
groups and organizations.
The other candidates for the dem
ocratic nomination arc County Com
missioner E. B. Chapman, seeking
re-election, of Union, J. Herman
Rauth of Manlty and W. E. Reynolds
of Union.
RETURN FROM HONEYMOON
Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Soenn lea
se n have returned from their honey
moon trip to the east and will make
their home here in the future. Mr.
Soennichsen has eecured the former
residence of George l'etring on high
school hill and where they will make
their home as soon as possible.
ENJOYING VACATION
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ofe and little
son and Mr. and Mrs. William
Shmldtmann, Jr., and little daughter,
are enjoying a vacation trip in the
Minnesota lake country, spending a
short time at Rattle Lake. This Is
one of the favorite spots of the lake
country for the residents of this sec
tion and many have spent their vaca
tion at this popu:r fishing resort.
VISITING FRIENDS HERE
Mrs. W. T. Coe, of Los Angeles, is
in the city for a visit at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sharpnack, old
time friends of Mrs. Coe. Mrs. Coe
will be better remembered here as
Miss Ruth Moffett, as her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. R. Ii. Moffett were resi
dents here for a number of years.
WILL ENJOY OUTING

today by auto for the west where they
will enjoy a short vacation, spending

Christian church at Murray on last
Wednesday evening in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. R. A. Noel I. Mrs. Noell be

hour the bride and groom unwrapped
the many presents which their
friends had brought for them. A

the committee.
VISITING IN WEST
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Petersen and
children are spending some time in
a visit in the south and western sec
tion of Colorado. They are making
the trip by tar and spending the
greater of the time at Branson, Colo
rado, where Mr. and Mrs. Ed Spies
and family reside, the latter a sister
of Mr. Peterson. The party enjoyed
the Fourth of July at Trinidad. Colo
rado, where a very elaborate celebra
tion had been arranged.

The death of DeLovina Clarice
Cowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Max Bowman of this city, occurred
Tuesday afit-rnoon at an Omaha hos
pital. The death of the child follow
ed an appendicitis operation, the lit
tle one failing to rally from the ef
fects cf the operation.
The body was brought here by the
Sattler funeral home and services will
be held on Thursday, afternoon ut
2:30 from the funeral home.
