Wheat of I'apillion. who died Friday, were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Masonic temple at Papillior.. Papillion .lodge No. 39, A. F. & A. :!., with Past Master Dr. J. B. Liehtenwallner officiatin, va3 in charge. Bee Hive lodge quartet from South Omaha sang. Burial was in fpilar Dale cemetery. Kunold's funeral home was in charge of ar rangements. Pallbearers were Charles Schwab, Herman Sanders, II. D. Patterson, Martin Allen and Robert Clarke, all of Papillion, and District Judge James T. Begley, Plattsmouth. Heaith and Nutrition Center for Plattsmouth Project Authorized Under the CWS Is Approved for This City Location B;ing Sought. Prom Tuesday's Dally Mrs. C. A. Rosenerans, who has had charge of the CWS work in Cass county was notified by wire today that this point has been granted a nutrition and health center project as a part cf the relief program. This will provide for the care and feeding cf undernourished children, giving them at least one meal a day as well as physical inspection and diet training. Under it there is pro vision made for one custodian, one cook, seamstress, director nurse and three assistants who will carry on the work of the project. Mrs. Rosencrans i.s arranging to find a location where the health cen ter may be located and where tne work may be carried on during the life of the project. Those who are employed will be selected from those on lelief or unemployed, as this is mandatory. PING-PONG TOURNAMENT Local ping-pong artists will have a chance to battle for the city cham pion title in a tournament to start Monday night, March 5. Entries are in charge of John Bissir.g, and those wishing to enter, may leave their names and entry fee of 10c at the Iowa-Xebr. light office. Entries will close at 6 p. m. Saturday, March 3. in order that drawings may be made in time for the opening matches on Mnoday evening. Play will be: at the Chevrolet building, where, tables will be set up.especially for the tournament. All matches except the eemi-finals and finals, will be 2 games out of 3. Semi final and final rounds will be 5 games out cf 9. The tournament is open to any one living in Plattsmouth. Players may furnish their own paddles, if they so desire, but both paddles and balls will be furn;.-hed for those com peting who do not have the neces sary equipment. No. 2i2 tins, 2 for WOMAN FOR GOVERNOR 13 Mrs. A. F. Nuquist of Osceola, is being urged to become a democratic candidate for governor of Nebraska. The movement to place a woman on the primary ballot is said to have started in Lincoln among women and men who vouch for the ability of Mrs. Nuquist. The proposal has been submitted to her but her answer has not been received. Mrs. Nuquist is past president of the Nebraska Fed eration of Women's Club3 and is now chairman of the Past President's as sociation, a position she is holding for a term of two years. It is believed no woman has been a candidate for governor sfnee the early prohibition days v.hcn Nebraska women were not backward about running for president of the United States on a dry ticket. Mrs. Nuquist is the daughter of J. W. Edgerton, deceased, who was prominent in the populist political party anil was secretary of j the state board of transportation,! predecessor of the present railway commission. The death of Mrs. Joseph Tubbs, SO, occurred Monday evening at the home at Mynard where she had been critically ill for some time, following a loDg period of ill health. The deceased lady was a long time resident of Cas- county, making their home in this city for a number of years and later moving to the vicin ity of Mynard where Mr. Tubbs was engaged in farming over a long period of years. Since the death o2 the husband tome three years ago, she had con tinued to make her home at Mynard and where she passed away. With her has been a son-in-law, C. W. Jones of Palo Alto, California. Mrs. Tubb3 is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mamie Cochran of Selby, Wyoming; Mrs. C. W.
