Regular lessons give time and place for this but the V. C. T. U. are especially urging that this be made a le?son for total ab stinence. In some of the local Sun day schools teachers were urged by their superintendent to give special attention to the subject. In others, concrete demonstrations were given of the wise spending of money for food rather than the new ly legalized beer, with emphasis placed upon tha harmof taking any dinl.ing containing alcohol into the human system. Posters carrying visual arguments refusing the state ments of benefits from alcoholic bev erages, were placed where adults might read and think quietly to themselves of this new project for na tional revenue, and the influence it would have in overcoming crime and graft in our country. Three to five minute talks were given in adult departments emphasizing our duties as citizens o a Christian nation in regard to this traffic and the patron izing of the same. These lessons are not so much for the little child who scarcely knows as yet what it is all about, having been raised during the years when prohibition did make the small com munities and home conditions bet ter, but fcr those who are respon sible for keeping conditions safe for the child and setting before him a clean and wholesome path of Chris tian citizenship in a country which has every possibility of being the best in the world and a leader of its kind in Christian democracy. rii!nni:in!r:niHiHi!S!iHnH:irinHiHi!n!rHinin!iniHni!n!!i 1 SPAGHETTI SALMON LOAF ?
